Detroit (pop: 925,051) is the Motor City. The Detroit metropolitan area is around 4.5 million while the combined metro of Ann Arbor and Flint reaches 5.4 million. The home of GM, Chrysler, and Ford, Detroit is coming back full strong. Once known for being dangerous and decayed, the city is having a remarkable renaissance with new loft projects, attractions, improved Midtown, restaurants, and shops springing up all over downtown and throughout the city. Though it has a while to go, it is wonderful to see Detroit blossom from a seed into a rose.
