The Texas Medical Center, with one of the highest densities of clinical facilities for patient care, basic science, and translational research in the world, is south of downtown. Neighboring Rice University is a fantastic Spanish-influenced campus with Rice Village, an adjacent shopping area. Hermann Park is Houston's "Central Park" with the Houston Zoo, Museum District, and wonderful spaces to gather.
