Avondale is one of the city's largest neighborhoods in size and population. It varies from Victorian and Gothic mansions to simple bungalows and wood-frame housing. Home of the Cincinnati Zoo, Avondale is primarily a middle-class African-American neighborhood and the home of the Cincinnati Urban League. Avondale typically has tree-lined streets and gas lamps, along with various city parks. A wonderful neighborhood to call home.              Â
