Conneaut Revisited
Photos are great but like a lot of eastern Ohio small towns - nice at one point but not what they used to be. Sad to see the Carnegie library in such rough shape.

Agree with @X - if it's not the avatar of the forumer, think it should be turned off.

Cleveland/June 2025 - the Goodtime III, Part One
Took a ride on the Goodtime III, with air temps around 60F and water temps not much warmer, it was a little brisk (but it would be considered balmy in February!). Add some upper level Canadian wildfire smoke for some sun diffusion and it was another case where no good time on the Goodtime is exactly the same.

A few pics from the Goodtime III yesterday - I know not a lot people check out other sections of the forum but I'll have over 100 pics posted in the City Photos section; hopefully in the next day or so.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Irishtown Bend Park
Aye, 'twas a good time from the Goodtime seeing the progress on Irishtown Bend (I'm half Irish, so trying a wee bit of a brogue 😆)

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
One of the less publicized (re)construction projects on the lakefront - the walkway at Wendy Park/Whiskey Island to the Coast Guard station. It's been closed since last August and is supposedly going to be completed this August. Based on these photos, not sure how realistic that timeframe is. It's unfortunate as that's one of my favorite spots in the vicinity, but hopefully it'll be reopened sooner than later.

Genuine skepticism from decades of similar announcements isn't necessarily instant negativity. Quite a few of us have seen plenty of announcements like this and can't be faulted for being optimistic realists. We've been doing this since before some of you were born 😅

Cleveland: Festivals, Music Concerts, & Events
Went to Globe Iron to see Tennis last night, first time visiting the building in its new incarnation. It was a great show and the space - well, not sure it's going to be my favorite venue but for seeing a compelling act it's fine. They've thankfully done a good job of keeping the industrial vibe of the building. Globe Iron is in the former Metropolis/Trilogy nightclub complex at the corner of Elm and Spruce which (for those of a certain age) hosted Church on Sunday nights for yeeears starting in the early 90s. They've reconfigured the entrances from Elm/Spruce to the mid block portion of the building; looks like Spruce Street has been vacated for the loading/staging area. What used to be the side room is now the main 'lobby/bar/facilities' area. The main floor has changed a little - the upper walkway/mezzanine that used to run the length of the space is now about a third of that for what they call the "deck". Guess you have to pony up for access but it's at the far end of the main hall - on the other hand, there's no other seating - none. We lucked out snagging a leaning spot along the wall and had a pretty good view. Overheard two Gen-Zish people next to me saying how "yeah, this is a new venue!" and "this is probably the first time most of these people have been in here". Where we were standing, on a Sunday night, was right by my old "claimed" Church spot on the Metropolis dance floor (I was a bit of a club kid back then) from about 33 years ago 😐 😳 What threw me off even more - the show wrapped around 10:30; back in the day we didn't even get to the place until midnight 😜 IMG_9776.mov
