The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
^^Don't get me wrong - I chuckled when I saw it - I read it as someone being silly. And then someone throws out the inflammatory comments here (and on the youtube link)... :-\

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
I was going to say - I read that comment as sarcasm or someone being silly. And if it wasn't meant as such, no offense to those who reacted to it but why would you even acknowledge such an ignorant statement from someone (who?!? anyone we should actually concern ourselves about as if their opinion has an impact?) about such an incredible event in such a wonderful venue? It's not like that person has a global bully pulpit like Forbes, so why even bother? Watch the video again - it's not like it *needs* defending. Ask the Market vendors if they could take that kind of attitude toward suburbanites (inner, outer, or ex) and stay in business. There are times when - yeah, an ignorant statement needs to be shot down; this isn't one of them and I'd hate to see that video's commentary devolve into a bunch of back-and-forth instead of people simply appreciating what I hope will be one of the most viewed Cleveland-centric youtube videos.

^I was there but way before any of that started (wrapped up my shopping by 8:45am) - it would have been awesome to experience, but I'm glad it was caught on video.

Thanks for the update - hope you can keep us posted, I've been curious to see if/when this would be redeveloped.

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
"That seems like a big problem. Does anybody who lives in Tremont have anything to say? How apparent is it?" I mostly hear about car break-ins, and that's usually near the Professor Street strip. More often than not, someone foolishly left a GPS/Purse/iPod out in plain sight - had a few too many drinks and left their car overnight. As far as residential, it's usually something unsecured getting swiped from a porch, garage or yard and sure, I've heard of a few isolated cases where a door was left unlocked and someone took advantage of that. You can't stop someone who is absolutely hellbent but most of the jack@ss perps are looking to grab whatever they can, as quickly as they can, without being detected so they can sell it for money for cheap booze or drugs. Every obstacle you can put in place - locking doors, installing alarms, etc. gives them one more reason to move on to an easier target. What boggles my mind are people who live in a neighborhood like Tremont and think nothing of leaving doors/windows unlocked overnight, or leaving their valuables in plain sight in their car. In an ideal world, we wouldn't need to but that's not reality. I mean, I grew up in a small town of 10,000 people and we NEVER left the car, house, etc. unlocked.

Poll: How much sleep do you get a night?
I sleep like the dead - 6ish or 7ish hours of solid sleep between midnight and 6ish and I'm good to go. Interrupt that solid sleep and you might lose a limb :-)

Cleveland: Random Quick Questions
"Your question was just fine btw - It was a quick, random question. Answers should be as well. Some people apparently don't get that." I *get* that, but as Avogadro said - was he asking about the housing stock, raising a family, etc. Anyway, one of my favorites is at the southern end of West 14th on the west side of the street just before the "Vortex of Death".

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Don't get me wrong, not saying the weather was just lovely and walking in it wouldn't be the most ideal but I would have *killed* to live/work downtown and not have to drive in that crap tonight. And sorta/somewhat getting back on topic, I guess that's why RTA has "dress for the weather" as a recommendation on their site

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
As much I as I don't want to see this thread go off-topic, I have to agree. Yes, I was down there - and back when I worked downtown, I routinely walked around when traffic was gridlocked - not like people can blow through intersections when its that backed up.

Where do you live????
"I don't understand this rival with east and west Cleveland." Generally anyone perpetuating a rivalry between east side/west side are well into their 40s and desperately clinging on to whatever little shred of fabricated myth they can to feel better about themselves, or "how much better things used to be." Makes me very happy to not be a native and tied to those throwback notions.

Lovely photos - thanks for getting a nice photo of my compound; I'm not quite finished with the holiday decorations but you know how these things go...

Take a day and chill out. You don't have to agree with Moderators, but insults won't be tolerated. Back on topic, please.

Are you a METROSEXUAL?
"If you put on an old school house song in one room and some new fangled craptastic "house" music in another, I gaurante, old school would win!" Sigh... maybe new school would at least use spellcheck. Honestly, the good stuff is good whether it's old or new. Liberty City - If You Really Want Someone (MURK Dubs Again) And sure, we had "Divas to the Dancefloor", but c'mon - *this* is cute:

"MayDay hoards specialty products from Great Lakes, and it's impossible for them to anticipate how much he will stash away." Actually if people would stay on topic and not b!tch about being called/suspended on their bullsh!t, my consumption would plummet! ;-)

Are there ANY lesbian bars in the Cleveland area?
Try walking into a place for the first time and within two minutes someone yells (at the top of their lungs, loud enough for everyone in the place to do a doubletake) "WHO BROUGHT THE WHITE B!TCH?!?!?". Oh, and realizing that the white b!tch they're referencing is *you* as the vast majority of the clientele is black. Yeah, Cleveland's gay scene is just a hoot.

"I’m not much of a photog" After seeing your first four photos of the set (and quite a few after that) I'm going to disagree with you :-) Thanks for posting these - I've wanted to see how Uptown is coming along, but it's nice to see just how much is happening in the immediate area.

Oh pishposh, *I've* been to the Hawk plenty of times and half of those leather queens are more nelly than me!

^I'd avoid Hush for a multitude of reasons. Emmie, your best bet might be to check out the WH2 (Womens Happy Hour) events - I believe they have a Facebook page. It's basically a monthly "takeover" event.

Pet Peeves!
Oh I dunno, there were quite a few horse farms in the outlying areas of my hometown and that was pretty putrid. Definitely not as oh-my-holy-god-please-kill-my-sense-of-smell as pigs and poultry but nasty enough. It always cracks me up whenever I bring friends from a city background to my hometown - "ooh, that's fresh country air!" - uh, no - that's cow sh!t.
