Teeny tiny gripe about my last trip to Cleveland
The moral of this forum is to take a break and have a beer! :-D Anyway, back to topic - it's the smaller businesses that get ding'd by the transaction fees and in this economy, can you blame them for not taking cards when they get zapped for a fee based on a bottled water for $1.50? I hear you, part of me says - hey, be happy for ANY business, but... :|

Relocation assistance for work: From Boston to Cleveland
No, I think it's just a matter of perception (or lack of awareness) - although I do suppose the question is legitimate and sincere. Occasionally a crime will occur and it's reported in the news as "near a bus stop on _____", and some people assume that the entire transit system isn't safe. That said, the buses and trains in Cleveland are generally safe - as always and as you should in any major city, keep your wits about you. If you're not comfortable, sit toward the front of the bus (closer to the driver); don't flash cash or expensive merchandise, etc. The worst problem I ever had on a bus was someone with B.O., or a group of kids being loud and rowdy - annoying but hardly threatening.

Cleveland: Critical mass of people for downtown
Answer - I don't know. Look at why it was locked in the first place (granted some off-topic posts were deleted - imagine that! )

Cleveland: Critical mass of people for downtown
How much more crystal clear could punch's post have been?!? Stop playing the victim, it's tiresome and totally disingenuous. Let's see - other forumers manage to contribute and participate, and most of the time - can realize when something is a tangent (a completely unrelated one at that), and when they don't - they usually respond to a reprimand and abide by the rules. You however, are constantly being reprimanded and you don't change your ways. 3,000+ members, yet you seem to be getting a lot of flak... yeeeah, the Admins and Mods give you grief because we don't have better things to do with our time  The onus is not on UrbanOhio to change just so you can post material that (as has been said in the past and I think it would it be a perfect fit) truly belongs in a blog. You should consider that - start a blog about downtown retail, critical mass, etc. - you're obviously passionate about it and knowledgeable.

Pretty much the same as I outlined upthread (rotated, sharpened, etc.).

If you mean this shot, there are two granite spheres located on the southwestern quadrant of Public Square, just across from the Terminal Tower entrance.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Alright folks - thanks again for giving me the opportunity to waste a few minutes of my life pruning this thread of completely irrelevant posts. I would think that educated adults could at least make a nominal effort to abide by the standing rule that threads need to stay on topic - I've been proven wrong by several participants in this thread. If your post was pruned - consider this a warning. As has been explained to so many, on so many occasions - it isn't JUST your off-topic post; it's the fact that others undoubtedly pile on to whatever tangent you're on, and take the thread even further off course. And that takes up more time of the Admins/Mods - who aren't paid for their time/service. Is it easy to agree with, or respect other forumers? No. Is it easy to keep your cool when presenting a contrarian viewpoint? No. However, thinking about whether something you're about to post is on or off topic? *That's* pretty easy to figure out. Sure, there's a little wiggle room but in a thread about Lakefront Development in Cleveland - we had people discussing US Airways, Pittsburgh's light rail, built and unbuilt subways, Prada shoes... Again - this forum is often cited as one of THE best sites for information about Ohio cities, and is further validated by the participation and presence of many respected people in the industry. If you respect that; if you value that, you need to realize that it hasn't happened by Admins/Mods just letting threads run rampant with whatever tangent that someone's fleeting thought had inspired. The Admins and Mods of UrbanOhio.com have (collectively) dozens of years of experience moderating online forums - we know what works, we know what will ruin a forum overnight, and we know what needs to be done to keep this forum going as well as it has. The alternative is for us to just say to hell with it, let people talk about whatever and then you'll have cleveland.com, part 2. Now - the thread topic is "Cleveland: Lakefront Development News". Discuss. There will be repercussions if you cannot abide by the common sense rules.

Is your money with Key, Huntington, Fifth/Third....
Nope - "2004 – Citizens Bank further strengthens its presence in the Mid-Atlantic with its acquisition of Charter One Financial, Inc., based in Cleveland, Ohio." - from charterone.com. Citizens Bank is owned by Royal Bank of Scotland.

CLEVELAND - Just another day...
"capture the truth of the second" I like that. That sums it up much better than I did. "I love how blue the lake looks on a clear day" Amen - come winter time, I'll be looking back at these photos to remind me that it's worth it to wait for the seasons to change :-)

On Top Of Sydney Harbour: Standing on top of the famous Harbour Bridge!
Love it - I wish Cleveland offered something similar with the Detroit-Superior Bridge (especially at night).

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
^It's not a terrible crime but it helps to keep things organized, as well as lower bandwidth. If you're responding to different articles/posts, you could always just have one post with multiple paragraphs - each paragraph starting with "Regarding the article about _____, etc."

Mansfield - Woodland Part 1
Beautiful! Reminds me a lot of Cleveland Heights and Shaker Heights.

CLEVELAND - Just another day...
I have two lenses, the Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS, and the Sigma 18-50mm f/3.5-5.6 DC. The Canon lens is great and was part of a bundle from Amazon with the XSi ($100 off the lens, so it was about $700 for the lens and camera). The Sigma does an alright job considering the price (I paid $90 for it). The images aren't nearly as crisp as the Canon, and the color can get washed out but most of the time it takes a decent shot. Fantastic! How do you get these so clear!!! 1. Mother Nature - that day was really low humdity and few clouds. 2. I invested in a better camera in January (Canon XSi). 3. I fully disclose that I use Photoshop to tweak what the camera produces. The photos I post essentially represent what I saw at the moment I clicked the shutter - I have something of a photographic memory, and I like my photos to simply show what I saw (i.e. I avoid oversaturating colors, adding special effects) etc. For example, this is what the camera captured: And this is how I adjusted it (rotated, adjusted highlights/shadows, tweaked levels, upped the saturation by 10% and finally applied a sharpen filter):

Photo Reqirements?
I haven't used Lexmark Imaging Studio but a google search showed that it comes with a "Photo Editor" and within that editor, there's a "Image Size" option. See if you can find that and make the adjustments that Rob suggested. If not, let us know what you find.

CLEVELAND - Just another day...
A day of mid-70s temps and low humidity, that is: South side (from Independence): West side (from Lakewood): East side (from Lakeview Cemetery): Of course, when at Lakeview Cemetery - you have to put a quarter on Rockefeller's headstone (supposedly for good fortune): The new cancer center at University Hospitals: Epworth-Euclid church: And off to downtown we go - Cleveland's Lady Liberty: Here's my take on the deal: I got plenty of UV rays that day! Thanks Sportsman - it's been a good run: Don't mind me, I just wanted to snap a pic of my ride ;-) Pedestrians and patios in the Warehouse District: Facades on Lakeside Avenue: Found this (apparently it's a 9mm casing) on the ground near City Hall - saw two cops and said "uhh, this was on the ground". Without missing a beat, the one said "well, where's your clip?" I pointed at my camera and said "THIS is the only thing I shoot with!". Key Center gives Terminal Tower a hug: Turbine or not turbine... Time to pause... Time to reflect... Timeless... Time to rock! Time to ... oh forget it. Stare at it long enough and you get dizzy: Hope you enjoyed!

Cleveland: Moving to Detroit Shoreway, opinions?
I was thinking it's been a while since I've suspended a forumer - those of you off-topic repeat offenders are going to the first on the list if you don't shape up. *EDIT* Apparently, someone didn't get the hint and posted an off-topic post three minutes after I posted this warning. They have a day off - folks, respect the hatchet.

Cleveland: Moving to Detroit Shoreway, opinions?
That's still Tremont - but trust me when I say that while Detroit between Max Hayes and the West 50s *looks* rough, Clark is much sketchier, imho.
