  1. From the County auditor's site: LOOP-TREMONT LLC. 2180 WEST 11TH STREET, CLEVELAND OH 44113 PRERECORDED TAPE, COMPACT DISC, AND RECORD STORES Digging around, it seems like it's going to be a fusion of things (gallery, retail, etc.).
  2. This thread getting waaay off topic for starters.
  3. I was on the other day and saw an area saying "This Area for Bicycle and Stroller Storage". I *think* the idea is that you flip that section of seats up to make room for bike/stroller. That area was adjacent to the rear doors. As far as restrictions, I'll defer to JMasek.
  4. If we want to discuss waste, let's start with the time and energy needed to bring threads back on topic. I know one way to settle that argument REAL quick. Great photos urbanforever - one of my favorite places to shoot from ever.
  5. Welcome to the forum, and welcome back to Cleveland! I'm a resident of Tremont - your best bets are to look east of I90/I71, and for easy walking distance to the Tremont hotspots, north of I490. I live east of 90/71 but south of 490 - but I'm male and when I think of my galpals walking around my area at night alone - I think they'd be okay, but I'd feel better about the area north of 490 for them. If you look on a map and see Lincoln Park, pretty much the area adjacent to that is ideal. Although Tremont Lofts are among the pricier rentals in the area - you might consider haggling with them a little. Best case, they say yes - worst case, they say no. Your commute to Akron will be relatively easy since you're commuting out of the city, and highway access in Tremont is really good. Ohio City is another great area - more densely built than Tremont, and with amenities like the West Side Market and a full-service grocery store. However, the further away from the area of the West Side Market you get, the more "questionable" it becomes.
  6. Surfer, seagull, it's all the same
  7. ^Yes, it started at West 3rd and Rockwell, north to Lakeside, east to East 9th and then at North Coast Harbor. I wasn't there for that, just the festival.
  8. Well it's that time of year - the 21st annual Cleveland Pride Parade and Festival was held today. My partner and I stopped by for a while to check out the event; the weather in the morning wasn't too promising but it ended up being a ridiculously gorgeous day. As with any Pride event, there was a really diverse crowd; the theme this year was "Equality Through Unity", and I think the turnout demonstrated that. Just a heads up for anyone viewing this at work, there's nothing too racy in this thread but there are some shirtless guys and drag queens - use your best judgement. For a soundtrack - it's not the newest tune but I like the chorus - "I don't know why I cannot see the beauty in front of me..." Some of the hottest guys in Cleveland: East 9th Street: Are we heading in the right directio... oh yeah, we're good! I hear the guy who designed the logo is accepting new projects ;-) One of the best things about the festival is the setting at Voinovich Park - great views of downtown: Some folks gathered on the main lawn to see one of the performers: Okay, I'm gay and I love dogs but I gotta say - I'm not feeling the rainbow tutu... Headgear of various styles: PUG!!!!!!!!!!!!! Crowd shots: Wasn't sure if this was the beginning of a lovely relationship or a fight: Admiring the view of downtown: The Pride Flag flying over Cleveland City Hall: I don't get the whole "fanner" thing but what the heck, it made for a good shot: The good weather helped bring in a good crowd: Scroll -> Polar opposites and that's what I love about Pride - whether it's your cup of tea or not, you see everything and realize that while the community isn't a monolith, this is one day where we acknowledge what we all have in common: Like I said - you see everything... ... and anything... And it's all good! No, this isn't MY tiara! Cheers to you, too :-) Alright, I've seen a lot of "Cher" drag queens - this one actually bore quite a resemblance! Pride's CEO/Executive Director: The Lifeflight chopper flies over - they take off/land/use nearby Burke Lakefront Airport: A more classic approach: Local drag queen Akashia appeared on the LOGO channel's "Drag Race" (hosted by RuPaul). I think she has star quality - she was chatting with these ladies and STILL knew a camera was pointed her way  And after a few hours in the sun, I was ready to call it a day - hope you enjoyed :-)

Whatever the case, everything posted is logged permanently so delete away - it can still be held against you :-)
  10. Thanks! If you mean this shot: ... that's actually the RTA bridge (carries the Red Line from Tower City to West 25th), but yeah I saw that and said "oh yeah, that's a good one!".
  11. "it sounds like the agency is dead-set on this audible device, so any further customer or citizen feedback seems somewhat pointless." As long as it's respectfully presented, I see nothing pointless about it.
  12. We sure can, and I think a certain person who has been warned about their problematic off-topic posting should think before he posts. Failure to do so will result in a six month suspension. Don't want to be called out like this? Adjust your behavior - it's that simple. And anyone who continues to take this thread off topic (including complaints about the thread being pruned) gets a week off. "So I'm trying to really see what the big fuss over this new MMPI convention center is all about" Two loading docks versus upward of 20 or more, a much more display-friendly space versus the catacomb-like and enormous column-ridden exhibit space... that's a start.
  13. Update of the Cares Tower construction:
  14. Update of the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Transit Center from Carnegie:
  15. I saw that there's a scaffolding set up (top middle section) - they might be finally scrubbing the old gal.
  16. Socializing? Pfft! I got a husband, who needs socializing?!?
  17. Saturday evening was the annual cruise benefitting GIFT (Gay Invitational Fellowship Tournament) - a gay bowling league. They charter the Goodtime III and a few hundred of "my people" show up. It was a lot of fun, and I had the chance to get some great shots of downtown. A nice tune for a summer evening: Our entertainment for the evening, Lounge Kitty (yes, she's a real female - she just likes to camp it up) http://www.loungekitty.net I was worried that we wouldn't have good weather... But it was gorgeous by the time we sailed: You know the drill... Quite a turnout this year! A few people out and about on the balconies of the Pinnacle condos: Move along, bridges and buildings - nothing to see here  Lounge Kitty, singing for her supper: Up to the top deck, in time for sunset :-) The condo towers of Lakewood's Gold Coast: The gulls were getting lit up by Key Tower's crown lighting, made it look even more like the Tower of Sauron: Hope you enjoyed!

Is the purpose of this forum is to host threads that have such inflammatory potential? I believe you started the thread with the premise of "well, we can expect to see a lot more of this!"? B!tch about the fact it was deleted all you want - YOU aren't the one responsible for babysitting it. There are PLENTY of other forums for that kind of discussion.

Sorry, but if something is "following the contours" of my body, it'd better pay for breakfast!!!

As someone who lives/breathes typefaces, I like your ideas. However, most people don't look at a logo for any more than three seconds and while you don't want to club them over the head like a baby fur seal, a logo should be easily decipherable for the masses. With that specific font, the "ohio" could be read as "dno" or "dhb". *I* clearly see what you're going for, but there's a difference between designing for the public and designing for others in the design field.
  21. And while most of the last group of posts have been off-topic, they've remained (mostly) within the bounds of good taste and enlightened discussion. :-) That said, if we could please get this thread back to the specifics of Cleveland: Crime Discussion, that'd be great.
  22. Yes, the videos are being discussed in the "Marketing the City Thread".
  23. I just sent JeTDog some test PMs and didn't get an error message - try it now, folks.
  24. "Besides, there's nothing there that can't be fixed with a few mimes." *SLAP!* Sorry - I hate mimes.
  25. In case Judge McMonagle only sees the flattering angle of photos from cleveland.com... or has an incredible eye for potential redevelopment that 99% of the population lacks... and Lakeview whoeverthe#ckyouare, shame on you:
