I could have told you that
  2. Minolta Z6 - 6MP, 12x optical zoom (420mm equivalent): It cost about $350 when I bought it in 2005, but it's no longer in production.
  3. I disagree. Unless the train was ahead of schedule, it should not have waited for him. It's not fair to the riders already on the train trying to get to work on time. Many stops you can sit there all day waiting for the next guy running across the bridge... Boy, you're a real peach, ain't ya!
  4. Sorry - I deleted the tangental posts - note that the original post by Jim S. is still there - feel free to go from there. :-)

^If you mean similar to Bank of America's program - to the best of my knowledge, no.
  6. Alright, even though I partook, it's time to prune... for the record, Jim S. is one of the nicest people you could ever meet and yes - I've had a bear hug and it was sans sweat. Back on topic! :whip:
  7. "MAYDAY!!! Don't tell me you're a huge fan of Moonstruck starring Cher and Nicholas Cage too..." Is that EVEN a question?!? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIcIyLr92YM&feature=related
  8. Okay, she's no Love Boat, but the Goodtime III is one of my favorite ways to see Cleveland - and the weather couldn't have been more cooperative. Last night was the G.I.F.T. (Gay Invitational Fellowship Tournament) cruise - a benefit for local gay bowling leagues, and with the great weather everyone wanted to get out and enjoy the evening - so it was a boatload of gays - get it? Boatload, nyuk nyuk. Anyway... There's our trusty craft! When the moon hits your eye... well, I guess it's a little too far to do that: At Voinovich Park there was a hoopty (sp?) show - so you had cruising queens and the hip-hop car crowd mingling on the pier - I love this country! Like this skyline? Get used to it, there'll be a few more shots: The ship was packed... no "packing" remarks from the peanut gallery, thankyouverymuch! Skyline, again: Pinnacle sticking out like a kick-arse sore thumb: There's that moon again: Nope, this wasn't from any of us flamers, apparently a vacant building in East Cleveland was torched: Move along, skyline to see here: Silver Shiny chisel: Up the river without a.... nevermind  A few boats out - and the 5 Mile Crib in the distance: Bridges? We don't need no stinkin'... sorry, it's early and I'm nursing a hangover: It's curtains for you... err, Iron Curtain bridge? All right, back to shiny happy stuff: Have your rust and eat it too? I swear to God, I was ready to start b!tchslapping the dozens of queens p!ssing and moaning about the Flats days of yore... Who knew there's a bar open on Old River Road? OHIO! Nice! The big three playing peek-a-boo: Stonebridge PlazaTowerCenterSquareSomethingorother: Key standing tall: Alright, some love for 200 Public Square: Just for Cincinnatus :-D I'm rather proud of this shot: Now, I don't know WHAT kind of dork would call their friend who lives in an apartment facing the river just to say "Like OMG, we're going right by your place!!!". Okay, guilty as charged:  Like a bridge over a boatload of queens: Sorry, a little too long without a skyline shot: Oh alright - let's get everyone in on the act: I want an apartment on top of the bridges: Some of the hottest guys I saw on the cruise  Terminal's looking great - can't wait for the rest of the scaffolding to come down: The CPD chopper kept circling the boat - maybe they got reports of excessive fabulousness? :police: This one's for you, Christopher Reeve: Because I can, that's why: Not sure if this was supposed to be one of those "ironic" t-shirts... Old art deco, new art deco: World class signage! Skyline time again! Sun, shimmer, it's all good: Red Line bridge: Key, fi, fo, fum... Bridge rise, sunset... Who knew Main Avenue bridge could look this good? Oooo... ahhhh: Not sure how this happened, but I'll take it! I've got a fever... and the only cure is - MORE SKYLINE!!! Moving boat + point-and-shoot camera = bad night shot :-( And Goodtime III's bar now serving Great Lakes beer + D'Vine Wine Bar + Velvet Tango Room + Twist = one H#LL of a night! :drunk:
  9. ^^Not quite - there's the building just south of Spy (south of the newer infill building), though I question its structural soundness, and there's also the smaller building behind (east of) Spy which fronts West 4th catty-corner to the Erie Lofts building.
  10. Interesting - if someone had told me this back in the mid-90s I never would have believed them. Spy Bar went downhill but before it did, it was a really cool place and I have a lot of good memories: From cleveland.com: Irish pub to replace notorious Spy Bar in Warehouse District Posted by Michelle Jarboe June 13, 2008 17:12PM A businessman plans to bring an Irish pub to the Warehouse District, replacing the notorious Spy Bar club on West Sixth Street. Bobby George, president of the George Group of Lakewood, has a contract to buy the downtown Cort Shoe Building that housed the controversial nightspot. He hopes to lease part of a nearby parking lot and the back of the Bolton Pratt building on West Fourth Street to make enough room for a new tenant: the Barley House pub and restaurant. The restaurant, with outdoor seating and a basement lounge, will be modeled on Akron's popular Barley House, one of many eateries launched or owned by George's family. His father, Tony, is a prominent businessman who helped create sports bar chain Slam Jams and the Harry Buffalo bars, which serve buffalo meat. 11. All I'm going to say is this: being gay, I have absolutely nothing to gain by offering a lady my seat on the bus/train. However, on more than one occasion that I've done so - let's just say if I was available/interested, I probably would have had a date. In one case, I offered my seat to a gal obviously younger than I - not only did she graciously accept, another female passenger (about my age) paid me a compliment. So if anyone out there is a single (and LOOKING) heterosexual male who DOESN'T offer your seat to women on a regular basis - there's a reason you're still single. And if we're ever at a forum meet and on the train/bus - guys, you WILL offer your seats to female passengers if it's standing-room-only.
  12. "Showing his chivalry Thursday, Calmer allowed the women waiting at a stop off Public Square to board first before taking his position in the aisle." Good for him - one of my biggest pet peeves is when a guy doesn't offer his seat to a lady. It isn't chivalry, it's good manners.
  13. What an insightful comment.

"Does anybody remember how much they paid for that thing? A couple million if I'm not mistaken..." Approximately $880,000. It's hardly the "gleaming, light-catching" piece that the artist (and Steven Litt, the PD's art/architecture critic) said that it would be.
  15. ^Oh amen to that. That's appallingly bad and has no place being there.
  16. Bah, call the cops on him regardless! ;-)
  17. You're all very welcome.... just remember that the holidays are only a few months away! (hint hint): http://www.aveda.com/templates/products2/spp.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY14955&PRODUCT_ID=PROD5828
  18. Just an update of construction near Public Square:
  19. Alright ya beatniks, here's your d@mned photos - luckily my hair withstood the punishing heat (thank you Aveda Custom Control gel!!!): A little wide-angle action:
  20. "Continental said it will eliminate service between Hopkins and Austin, Texas; Birmingham, Ala.; Charleston, S.C.; Charleston, W. Va.; Cincinnati; Des Moines, Iowa; Detroit; Green Bay, Wis.; Greensboro, N.C.; Lexington, Ky.; Little Rock, Ark.; Memphis, Tenn., Nashville, Tenn., Norfolk, Va.; Oklahoma City, Okla.; Omaha, Neb.; Ottawa, Canada; San Antonio, Texas; San Diego; Sarasota, Fla.; Savannah, Ga.; Toledo; Tulsa, Okla.; and Washington-Dulles." While I'm sure there's some niche market for the cities I've bolded, and I'm sure someone will be inconvenienced, those should be no-brainers.
  21. I thought this might be a good catch-all thread for road and street closures, construction delays, etc. For starters, here's what you get to look forward to in Tremont/Duck Island. Note that the red lines are also the primary detours. I think that ODOT and the Streets department get kickbacks from repair shops:
  22. I take it you have statistical proof that such events take place in said neighborhoods?
  23. In all fairness, that's not the topic of this thread!
  24. ^Don't sweat it, I went past the construction fence to get some photos a while ago. Luckily I didn't get throttled by the vice squad like you did! ;-)
