It's 8 billion degrees outside!!! Do you have *any* idea what that does to my hair?!? Oh alright...

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
^That rubble is still private property and is ON private property (at least while it's a construction site).

Cleveland: Retail News
I'm posting these for sh!ts and giggles - I visited my folks and went through some boxes of old stuff. Lo and behold, a brochure from the Galleria, circa 1987! Here are some "highlights" - check out the clothes and the "world-class verbiage"

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
^Just the buildings north of the Main Avenue bridge. And no, I wouldn't take photos of being accosted by the po-po. Why do you think my camera has a 12x lens? :-D

Springtime in Youngstown’s Mill Creek Park
An inner-city park in Youngstown. Yep, that's why I always make at least one trip a year to Mill Creek Park - especially Fellows Riverside Gardens. :-)

A Bad Weekend
It's like a trainwreck - you don't want to look; you know you probably shouldn't even THINK of looking, but you just have to see it for yourself.

Cleveland: Hotels, Conventions, and Tourism News & Info
Thats due to the age of the property. Rooms were not as large then. Same thing at the drake in Chicago. The Renaissance (built in 1918 as the Hotel Cleveland) originally had something like 1,000+ rooms. At some point, a remodel involved combining rooms to reduce the number to the 440 rooms/50 suites it has now. So you can only imagine how ridiculously small the rooms USED to be. Best hotel bar? I'm rather fond of 1890 at the Arcade/Hyatt, particularly sitting at the high-tops along the windows facing Superior.

Congressman Dennis Kucinich
"Kucinich read the 35-count resolution on the House floor Monday night, taking nearly five hours." SOMEone loves the sound of their own voice. I agree with the intent, but how about working on something that COULD be accomplished?

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
^Oh god, Sushi Rock is the worst - the sushi is okay at best but my god the people who work there either need more fiber in their diet or a little whoopee on the weekends. Easily the p!ssiest service workers I've ever encountered.

^I always forget about them, but I think it's because they're more "Mexican fusion" than traditional Mexican. Great recommendation, though.

Sorry I missed this - your best sushi spots will be: Ginza - East 9th @ Carnegie Sushi 86 - Ontario at Public Square (lunch only) Pacific East (Cleveland Heights) - Coventry at Mayfield maaaaybe Sapporo on East 6th at Vincent. As far as "good" Mexican, there's really not super-great places in Cleveland, though that may be changing when Zocalo on East 4th gets their new menu.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
^Key West Cafe opened a spot in Westlake in the former Tony Roma's space. Sausalito is still at the Galleria - they can't close, they have one of my absolute favorite girly-salads!! Sausalito Chicken and Spinach Tossed with red onions, sliced strawberries, caramelized walnuts, blue cheese and poppy seed-raspberry vinaigrette (nix the onions of course)

^To be honest, the Frame Center Gallery has been there since the Galleria was built and they do a good business. They maintain the retail space for new customers but their bread and butter is corporate accounts. And I highly recommend them :-) But other than that, it's really bizarre to walk through there at lunch (and see how busy it is) and then at 3pm (tumbleweeds).

Youngstown - Stambaugh Building in the news
To the best of my knowledge, he's known as a parking lot developer. The Stambaugh Building:

How many distinct highrise(skyscraper) districts does Ohio have?
According to me, if any of you ever met up for a forum meet and spent this much time and effort in what is essentially a d!ck-size competition, I'd beat the living hell out of ya! And I wrote a book about architecture!

Cleveland Suburb of Solon
Hmmm, good question...

Cleveland: Random Development and News
Sorry - you're losing it ;-) The Federal Courthouse tower - like it or not - has helped bring some cohesion into the skyline. That's why the skyline looks a little off.

You make it sound like you're a model and we all know how absurd THAT claim is. :-D

Roommates
"What are everyone's thoughts on living alone? I've always had roommates, but I may be faced with the prospect of living alone shortly." If I weren't co-habitating with my partner, I would live alone - without question. I've had roommates before and honestly I'd rather pay extra for a smaller space (and more solitude) than have to deal with someone else's noise, drama, significant others, pets, etc. My partner and I share about 3K sq. feet, which makes it easy for those times where we need a little isolation.

UncleRando in Cleveland...yes Cleveland
"Does anyone know of a comparable view closer in?" The parking garages of University Hospitals and the Cleveland Clinic; the view from the top floor of Rhodes Tower at CSU is pretty good as well:
