Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
I suppose things like that could go in the "Travel/Relocation" section, or maaaaybe the Urbanbar. It's not a bad idea, but I don't know if it would get enough use to justify having a whole separate area. Annnnnd BACK ON TOPIC please! :-)

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Mark my words, Detroit-Shoreway is under the radar now but it won't be for long and people will be grumbling about the newbies and suburbanites and saying the same thing. Sorry, I just think it was a silly afterthought of a comment that has little to do with construction in the Detroit-Shoreway neighborhood.

Cleveland Area - Help Us Find A Home
I live in Tremont and I'm the first to admit there has been a *rare* occasion or two where I've not felt the safest, but no more than I would in any urban neigbhorhood in the US. Like goteenb has said, some of the older kids in groups can be reason for concern. However, my comfort level is likely different from yours (different, not better) and if you and your wife don't care for Tremont/Ohio City, or whatever neighborhood - that's fine. :-) I was asking so we could address any specific concerns and/or dispel any inaccurate information. No one's going to think any less of you, and whatever info you can give us can help us steer you somewhere that's more to your liking.

Fair enough. And to other forumers - there's no need to get all worked up, they're entitled to their opinion :-)

^Alright, I can take a hint  ;-)- Pittsburgh subway station tile mural worth $15 million
A Romare Bearden MURAL?!? How f#cking cool is that! Sorry - my inner art history minor in my undergrad is talking again.- Today, I Overheard Someone in my City Say...
Said by a young couple as we were leaving the Feist concert at the Palace Theatre last night: Him: "Wanna grab a drink?" Her: "Where?" Him: "I dunno, there's all kinds of places down here now - didn't use to be." Her: "Can we walk to East 4th from here?" Him: "You up for it?" Her: "Sure!" Had I heard this a few years ago, I'd have thought they were out of their minds.- Cleveland Area TOD Discussion
^Find anyone who is listing a home without tax abatement - ask them how they feel about competing with 15-year tax abated new construction a block away. Find anyone who is trying to sell a property that has its tax abatement coming to an end and ask them how they feel about competing with tax abated new construction. Sure, it's resulted in some actual physical development which is a good thing but it's artificially propping up the market.- Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
"Second, there may be restrictions on what you can/can't attach to the facade of a historic building, especially if you use the City's Storefront Renovation Program to help pay for the rehab." Bingo!- Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News

Five years? Ppffffttt! Welcome to the wonderful world of gentrification - if you think it's bad here, you're going to be in for a surprise. I have friends in other cities where they rented a cheap but decent place and within TWO years their neighborhood got "hot" and they're already contemplating relocating due to rising prices.- How do you guys feel about pop culture?
