question about the rta
And I repeat - "I would imagine that the Clinic would offer some kind of security staff escort to walk you to your car. Don't be ashamed or afraid to use it." :-)

"We give our employees monthly RTA passes if they want, but it's not a realistic option for some of our guys that live way out in Twinsburg." Not sure if it would be an option (or ideal) for them but Akron's Metro service might be useful - the X60 has a stop in Twinsburg: http://www.akronmetro.org/Schedule%20PDFs/Spring%202008/28161%20x60-61_2.pdf

Guys - do NOT turn this thread into a discussion of "what's an appropriate tip".

You're not being an annoyance at all - I was the same way when I first found an architecture/city "geekboard". :-) For Mayfield Loft images, check this link at the city of Cleveland's Landmark Commission http://planning.city.cleveland.oh.us/landmark/agenda/photo/03132008/index.html Scroll down and you can see clickable thumbnail renderings.

"I did not realize there were other people interested in these things." Yep. Now you don't have to pester your friends/spouse/significant other about this stuff ;-) Welcome to the coven forum!

Cleveland: Ontario-Superior intersection caves in downtown
Just an fyi, as of noon, Thursday April 3, the Square is mostly open to all PEDESTRIAN traffic. The hole looks to be completely repaved so I imagine vehicular traffic will be allowed in the near future.

Chicago cost of transportation to downtown from Midway
"Suitcase? For some reason, I always pictured at least two steamer trunks." Thanks to TSA (and my partner saying something about "do you REALLY need your ENTIRE wardrobe?"), I'm relegated to a wheeled suitcase. Mind you it's well over three feet tall, expandable, and routinely comes off the baggage carousel with a "Warning/HEAVY" sticker. :-)

I thought it was alright, I had the Asian Chicken Salad with cashews which was fine - not great, but fine. For the price I think I prefer Metropolitan.

Chicago cost of transportation to downtown from Midway
The Orange line is definitely your best bet - great views coming into the city from the south. The only thing is - if you pack a heavy suitcase (like me), make sure it has wheels. I was expecting the station to be like Cleveland's (i.e. directly in the terminal, not far from baggage claim) - at Midway, it's a little more of a hike.

Interesting - looks like they went with WRL instead of Corna. I can live with that design.

Hey now - I *loved* Q-bert back in the day (and Ms. Pac Man) but I digress... The rendering of the new office building is a little better than the "Q-bert" building and from the looks of it, they're planning to keep the plaza at Huron and Ninth (Med Mutual's pocket park).

Cleveland: National City Bank News & Info
As Hts44121 says, when banks go through mergers/acquisitions - there are usually two goals: growth, and killing the competition. Some M&As result in more of one than the other, but in the case of Key and National City, it would be heavily skewed toward the latter. You don't try to kill your competition when they're at the top of their game, you get them when they're "weak". On the retail level, Key and National City's retail footprint involves a lot of overlap in the Midwest, although Key's is much more dispersed from east to west. The green represents National City's presence, the red is Key: So if this goes through, Key kills off a lot of National City's overhead and gains retail presence in Pennsylvania, Illinois, Missouri, and Florida.

Cleveland: National City Bank News & Info
Thank you all for sharing your financial plans, but the thread is about National City Bank. That said: From crainscleveland.com: http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20080402/FREE/932345337/1099&Profile=1099 WSJ: National City, KeyCorp consider combination By STAN BULLARD 8:53 am, April 2, 2008 National City Corp. (NYSE: NCC) is considering a sale of itself to cross-town rival KeyCorp (NYSE:KEY) , The Wall Street Journal is reporting this morning. The report, which cites anonymous sources, comes just one day after the beleaguered banking company said it has retained investment banking firm Goldman Sachs to advise it on a range of so-called "strategic alternatives." Richard Bove, bank analyst with investment bank Punk, Ziegel & Co., said in an interview with Crain's on Monday that “massive job losses at National City would occur” if a Key-National City merger was to take place as the two companies both have large administrative staffs in the Cleveland market. Mr. Bove said a Canadian bank also could emerge as a potential buyer for National City because of the interest of some Canadian banks in building a presence in the Midwest. He specifically cited BMO Financial Group, parent company of Bank of Montreal; it bought the former Harris Bankcorp Inc. of Chicago in 1984. Mark Dodosh contributed to this story. ................. Needless to say that would be pretty horrific for National City, especially on a local level.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
Hey guys, the press release came from Mel Faczant ;-) I have to admit my favorite was a few years ago on skyscraperpage.com's forum. I faked a press release that said the upper floors of the Terminal Tower would be dismantled/demolished because of inefficient floorplates and deterioration. Of course I photoshopped off the upper floors and took a little time to make it look accurate. Mind you the tower had some scaffolding up for routine maintenance already. Did I mention that the press release said the Landmarks Commission approved? I think people were ready to march down to Public Square to protest so I had to fess up to that right away.
