Cleveland: Historic Photos
I love the whole collection but especially the pics in and around Tremont and the Industrial Flats. I showed these to my in-laws who spent their formative years here and as soon as they saw the Sohio stacks with the dome of St. Theodosius, it brought back a lot of memories. Apparently my sister in law climbed to the top of one of those stacks back in the day. When she came into town a few years ago we walked on the Towpath and she insisted it was somewhere around there - now we know. I also learned my mother in law was among a group of hardcore Tremonters Southsiders who protested to Congress and the Senate to get the Abbey Avenue bridge rebuilt so Tremont wouldn't be cut off. A lot of those bridges were demolished and not rebuilt intentionally - that's how rough Tremont used be back in the day. Just wish more of my in-laws had taken my mother in law's advice to buy in while you could get a house around Professor and Literary for less than ten grand.

Yep, as @BoomerangCleResmentioned and behind the sign on the right side of my drive by pic. If you look closely, there are crane sections on both the north (likely for the garage) and west sides (possibly for the tower - just above the SUV in my pic) of the site.

Again, my husband refuses to stop in the middle of rush hour traffic so I can get a good shot, but confirmed additional crane components are on site.

Folks, there are established standards for determining height (spires count, flagpoles and antennas do not, etc.). Those of us who have been tracking this stuff since before some forumers were likely born remind you of the following: Key Tower - 948’ to top of the spire, 888’ to the top of the pyramid Terminal Tower - 708’ to the structural top, the 70’ flagpole does not count toward the official height Sherwin Williams - 616’; not 618, not 650 - 616’- East Palestine Train Derailment
Had the train derailed 15 minutes earlier, it would have literally been in the backyard of the house I grew up in. The security cam footage of the train that was sparking and on fire miles before the derailment? Yep, all too painfully familiar with the area. And yes, “northeast Ohio” in some ways is a world away from Columbiana County, where it’s always been pronounced ‘East Palisteen’.- Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
On a possibly related note, any Canon users out there who could recommend a reasonably-ish priced telephoto lens compatible with the RP, feel free to send me via private message. :)- Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
