Akron Neighborhoods (North Hill, Highland Sq., Middlebury, Goodyear Hts.)
Market Path is a fair-trade store along the lines of Ten Thousand Villages http://www.themarketpath.com/fair_trade_faqs.html The commercial strip of Highland Square used to extend further east along Market - there used to be a lot of antique shops which 1. made for a longer stroll/district 2. added to the eclectic mix. I think if it was located closer to the university, it would be more built-up and have more pedestrian traffic. For comparison's sake, here are some same-scale overheads of Coventry and Highland Square: Note the HUGE amount of apartment buildings west of Coventry's commercial strip: Note the lack of dense residential areas like Coventry. The blue area is where the antique shops used to be: Great set, ink! :-)

Cleveland: Ontario-Superior intersection caves in downtown
Every city has old water pipes. Every City has these problems. seriously dude relax, not every perceived negative comment is a blatant attack on the city. Someone has a persecution complex - how else should someone read your comment?

Folks, there's a thread about this - and this technically doesn't involve ECP. http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/topic,15524.msg264576.html#new- Cleveland: Ontario-Superior intersection caves in downtown
If you're wearing nice shoes, stay away from Public Square and points north until you reach Lakeside - mudddddy. Traffic cops were out on St. Clair and did a decent job of keeping things moving.- Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Good job on posting the info about the water main break - columbus metro retro
^Fine, sweetcheeks - we can include you too ;-)- Cleveland: Retail News
Not that it will shock anyone, but I read the whole thing and enjoyed it! :-)- columbus metro retro
Someone had their avatar linked from columbusretrometro.com - the avatar was apparently moved to a password-protected area and thus opening a page with that forumer's avatar triggered the password request.- CLEVELAND - A breath of fresh air!
Wait at least a month - that way, you'll have pleasant (or more pleasant) weather. Hotels, I know some people have hotwired Embassy Suites and/or the Hyatt at the Arcade at less than $100 a night. Whatever you do, avoid the Comfort Inn downtown.- Cleveland Eateries: A Where To Guide for Visitors and Residents
Saffron's been closed a loooong time. I think it was one of those overnight "see ya!" things - like the Diamondback/Waterhouse Grill next to Boneyard.- Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Jerry, I know it's not one of those "oh just push a button and make it magically happen" things but considering how many headaches it could prevent (if implemented and maintained correctly), I'd say that would be worth looking into. Look at how many people here on the forum- who are generally supportive of RTA - had issues today that could have been resolved with such announcements. And above all, as MTS said - thank you and JetDog both for being here - your participation really helps us understand how things work.- Urban Art
Both the 5 Pointz and 42nd Street project are wonderful examples of what I would envision. Legally permitted and amazing creative. :-)- Cleveland Eateries: A Where To Guide for Visitors and Residents
Stopped in at Saigon again - went with the crisy rolls w/vermicelli - deeee-lish! I spoke with the host and suggested smaller sizes of soup for lunch and he said they've been getting a lot of input along those lines and it'll be part of their upcoming meeting :-)- Cleveland Eateries: A Where To Guide for Visitors and Residents
Siam Cafe has bubble tea, as does Koko Bakery.- Urban Art
"(until the asshole cops come, of course)." One day, when you own property that gets vandalized, let us know how "asshole" those cops are. It's just like people calling lawyers names, but who are the first people you call when you need them? I absolutely support talented artists and I financially and physically support Cleveland's largest Urban Art festival (Cleveland Public Art's City Xpressionz), but I do not and will not support vandalism of private property. There's a grey area of course - abandoned buildings, bridge abutments, etc. - in that case I'd like to see more of a collaborative effort - property owners agree to allow artists to work within a specific area; cops agree to let them do their thing provided they're on the up and up; heck, even paint companies agree to provide some supplies for a nice tax write-off. All around I think that provides the best solution.- Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Question, Jerry - in cases of *really* inclement weather is there a way to implement a "realtime update" message for people who call in? Something like "RTA Special Announcement - Rapid Trains inoperable due to weather conditions" and THEN the caller gets the regular dialing options?- Clinton v. Obama
Knowing what you know about me, do you think I even hesitated for a second to call them out? And names aren't necessary :-) jam40jeff - in no way am I suggesting *all* Obama supporters are making remarks like that, but I am DEFINITELY seeing blatantly misogynist and racist comments from "liberals", "Democrats", "minorities", aka people who should know better.- CLEVELAND - A breath of fresh air!
Back on topic and save the godd@mned nostalgia for a PBS special for god's sake - oh wait, they already did that! Like Andi in Pretty in Pink told her divorcee dad - "SHE'S GONE AND SHE'S NEVER COMING BACK!!! WHY CAN'T YOU ACCEPT IT!?!?!?"- Clinton v. Obama
Here's an interesting comment from someone on another forum about Hillary: "We all know her support consists of little more than air-headed sisterhood, prejudiced hispanics, and stupid laboring grunts." This wasn't a comment from some right-wing bigot, it was a comment made by a self-professed liberal and Democrat of African-American descent. The last time I checked - misogyny = homophobia = racism = sexism = bigotry = classism. I have to say I just don't hear that kind of appalling horsesh!t from the Hillary camp.- CLEVELAND - A breath of fresh air!
