  1. I don't think the ambassadors should be responsible but - maybe the folks at DCA (since they're an organization of and for downtown property owners) could have (or maybe already have?) a liaison to say "hey jack@ss, clear your walks - you're making the rest of us look bad!".
  2. Funny you should ask - because I asked two of the "Clean" ambassadors shortly after I took the photo. According to them, they are only able to clear off crosswalks, curb cuts, etc. and the sidewalk proper is the responsibility of the respective property owner.
  3. Here's my take - if you were the owner of a building/rental company and your livelihood depended on potential residents and their impressions of your property, why WOULDN'T you clear the walks? If I was a potential renter and saw this sh!t, I'd think that if this is how they maintain the sidewalks, they might not maintain the rest of the property either. :?
  4. I've seen other places (weekly papers, etc.) that have something like a "Cheers and Jeers", so I thought maybe this would make for an interesting thread. This isn't a "random rant" thread, more like a "here's a concrete example of how NOT to do things". Since this forum enjoys visibility, perhaps we can use this thread as a "gentle nudge" to the people who could be doing things a little better. :-) I'll start with the sidewalks in front of the WT Grant Lofts - it's ice from where I took the photo all the way to Bang and Clatter. As pope would say "enjoy your @sshat, folks!":
  5. "Why do people on Cleveland.com think that corporate naming rights is a Cleveland phenomenon?!" If I had a dollar for every time someone made a "bubblehead" comment like that

  11. "Ted kennedy lives in the area, and almost hit me in his car once...that's my claim to fame..." You'd think he would have learned after Mary Jo...
  12. ^Much like being an Admin for this forum, there's only so much of this ---> that any one can take.
  13. ^A great way to dispel those perceptions would be to take a camera and show us the Ashtabula that you're familiar with.
  14. I think her stylist has been vacant for a while. If you're going to make stupid comments, at least look good doing it!
  15. Hey, I could have posted aerials of the I-90 interchange in Avon, their ex-urban offices, etc.
  16. They don't have "moving sidewalks", they have "golf-cart" trams like those you see at the airport.
  17. Cleveland Clinic CEO says global expansion will fuel hospital system's growth Posted by Regina McEnery February 27, 2008 11:38AM The Cleveland Clinic's global reach, which has resulted in a three-year rise in international patients and the development of lucrative overseas partnerships, has put the sprawling health system in the driver's seat at a time when the rise in domestic health care spending and the city's fragile economy have put cast clouds over practically everyone's bottom line. "2008 is going to be even more impressive,'' said President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Toby Cosgrove during his annual address to Clinic employees on Wednesday. 19. 5'9" - yes, I had an awkward growth spurt as a late bloomer.
  20. I knew better than that - I was 4'9" until my junior year of high school!
  21. "I was the stereotypical kid no one would pick for their team." Same here... it's okay though, it's not like that kind of rejection scarred my psyche or anything...
  22. If it was just stopping in for some dessert fondue (aka a gal's night out or something), it's alright. But doing the whole three courses for dinner? You end up REEKING of cooking oil :-( Welcome to the forum, btw.
  23. "Yeah, the faux babbling brook is an especially nice touch." Those are all over the place in Chicago, especially Michigan Avenue.
  24. "is it going to look like a snow globe outside next week?" Not according to weather.com's 10-day forecast - that's why I thought it could work. But if a lot of people can't make it, how about the week of March 10th?
  25. Alright folks - anyone want to try Crop Bistro on West 6th sometime next week (the week of March 4th - 8th)?
