  1. Oops! Sorry - I was in a rush to get the pics posted. Here's the infamous houseboat:
  2. Yep, I'm guessing the four-car setup was because of the Indians game.
  3. See for yourself! :-) http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php?topic=14229.msg223351#new
  4. Well the forum meet on the Goodtime III was awesome - a good turnout, great weather (well, a little windy) but otherwise a great time. All the cool kids from the forum were there! ;-) It was reeeally windy out on the Lake - but it's all good, UrbanOhioans are a tough bunch! rob_1412, BlackOpsAmbassador, peabody99, OompaLoompa (seated), Mr. peabody99, 8ShadesOfGray, X.
  5. Anyone questioning Madonna's contributions/worthiness will be permanently banned, drawn and quartered, and spayed/neutered via a rusty serrated knife. I hope I make myself perfectly clear.
  6. Sorry we missed you, musky. It was a great time - other than being a little windy (and their bar not having Great Lakes), it was perfect.
  7. "I was in Dayton getting an eduction" Might want to go back and polish it up a little ;-)
  8. Now now, it may not be a great paper but there are some talented people (along with some twits, and some talented twits at that) on the staff. It was nice to see some of my former co-workers from the Daily Kent Stater on the awards list.

Now exactly what constitutes an out gay on TV? Lots of dramatic shoulder and "jazz hands"?
  10. Yay! See you all soon! Today's forecast: TODAY: Clouds & sunshine with showers possible east. Highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. TONIGHT: Partly cloudy to mostly clear and cool. Lows in the mid 40s to near 50. There's a small craft advisory with choppy waves so if you get seasick, stay away from me!!!

"Uncle...are you putting on some weight man? Thank goodness you escaped the south when you did. All that fried food was doing you in!" Well, prinCESS, we haven't seen a photo of you yet - perhaps you're afraid of getting some of the scrutiny you give? ;-)
  12. And a bump-bump so I don't have to hear "wha? I didn't realize when it was?!?!?".
  13. Welcome to the forum!
  14. For the record, the proprietors of UrbanOhio.com do not advocate violence of any kind.
  15. Walked by today at lunch - a few months ago, there used to be a dumpster next to the building and I would see lights on and workers. Now:

"What's wrong with wearing spandex! It serves a purpose!" It also creates really bad scarring visuals. I'm sorry, but most of the people I've seen wearing spandex... well, you would think if they spend all that time cycling, they wouldn't have spindly little stick legs and potbellies, right? It's like sticking two toothpicks in a small potato and stretching fabric over the whole thing - NOT pretty!
  17. "And if you just walk through it and look at people's costumes and set pieces, it comes off as a giant Hard Rock Cafe." In some cases, sure - but they have Madonna's bustier from her 'Blonde Ambition' tour. As a gay man (who at age 35, remembers her first world premiere video on MTV when they used to have music), that iconic piece alone makes a pilgrimage to the Rock Hall completely worth it. :-)

You're talking to someone who watched CNN's "Style with Elsa Klensch" for the better part of 10 years, so check yo'self befo' you wreck yo'self. And honey, you might know it as well as me, but you won't ever WORK it as well as me! Thank you, please be seated! :whip: *Ahem* - sorry, I think I'm channeling MyTwoSense :-o
  20. I absolutely love dogs, but am I the only one who thinks that if you're gonna live in an urban environment like downtown, it miiiight not be the best place to own a dog that's so large it needs a dog-run sized patch of grass to get exercise? Also I was under the impression that there were dog-doo bag dispensers in the Warehouse District - if they are, then the doo-doo problem on the sidewalk won't be fixed by adding dog-designated greenspace.

" This is some only a Columbusite could truely understand." Give me a f#cking break. My comment was directed specifically at the corporate level - as in the Limited and A&F are not building Nationwide districts, downtown office towers or things of that nature. The article reads "homegrown empires like the Limited and Abercrombie & Fitch, the city has seen a flurry of downtown development". It basically sounds as if either company is plunking down major office towers when that's clearly not the case. It would be like saying that American Greetings has created a flurry of downtown development in Cleveland - they haven't. Their employees have, since many are in the creative field and prefer urban living, but that's a far cry from American Greetings putting up residential mid-rises and a sports arena. Now, I'm well aware of the impact that the Limited/A&F presence has had in the region, and how they've attracted talent to an area that might be under the radar for say, someone from NYC, and how that talent might be more prone to live in the urban core. But I wasn't addressing that, was I? It's hardly something unique to Columbus.

"MayDay, you look like you're on crack." I wish! At least for the fact I'd be able to squeeze back into my 30" jeans!
