From a source who “knows the things” when asked if funds allocated for claims and payouts could be used for other purposes: If an Ordinance established the fund and says it is only for that purpose then no. If it is just budgeted for that it can be moved during a process called reconciliation.- Cleveland: Mayor Justin Bibb

I had mixed feelings about the original design. The residential tower and office building were pretty good (especially the residential tower) but I loathed the horizontal hotel component. The facade and cross bracing had some appeal. The proportions and especially the interaction with the roof of the office building? 👎🏼👎🏼- Cleveland: Random Visualizations & Massings
There's some artistic liberty taken but this view (from the west) shows just about where Convention Plaza would be:- Cleveland: Random Visualizations & Massings

I knew that rendering was by Fleischman! How do I know? Look at what I found from this book (specifically the illustration):- Cleveland: Random Visualizations & Massings
I'm 99% sure I have that book - only problem is digging through the other 3,251 Cleveland books I have 😆- Cleveland: Random Visualizations & Massings
It was planned for northwest of City Hall (shorter structure on lower right) and I believe would have straddled the railroad tracks.- Cleveland: Random Visualizations & Massings

Sorry for the 80s/New Wave earworm but I've never seen the amount of flocks of seagulls flying around and perched by the Coast Guard Station.- Cleveland: Historic Photos

Picked up a book from Visible Voice bookstore in Tremont called "On the Grow With Cleveland". It was published in 1965 as part of the celebration of Central National Bank's 75th anniversary. Apologies for the photo quality as I don't have a scanner, but thought there were some neat shots. View from West Ninth and Superior, looking east on Superior. View from top of Society for Savings building, looking south on Ontario. When the Rockefeller Building had the CNB signage. Inside of the banking lobby of the Rockefeller Building Rockefeller Building banking lobby View of Cleveland, looking east from top of the Rockefeller Building. View of Cleveland, looking southeast from top of the Rockefeller Building. Drawing of Superior Viaduct. View of 308 Euclid (now demolished, currently site of the House of Blues) These are what really prompted my buying the book - I'd never seen interior views of 308 Euclid. Aerial view of downtown. One thing I noticed - there's some sort of structure on Mall A - anyone have any insight there? See what used to be on the Scranton Peninsula? Main Avenue bridge under construction. CNB's headquarters on Euclid, currently the site of the Beacon apartment tower. Aerial view - taken around 1959ish, as the East Ohio Gas Building (Residences at 1717) is visible on the left. Interior of the Midland Building (Landmark Office Towers) Aerial view of the east side of downtown and the Innerbelt Rendering of I.M. Pei's Erieview plan- Cleveland: Random Photos
A few recent photos ... Looks like someone was having an event in the observation deck: Hmm, why is it called Stonebridge again? Yeah yeah, a view that's going to be changing (the T-shirt shops will need to update their inventory): Bridge to nowhere? Bridge to somewhere? Choo Choo! I get it - fencing for safety and security but I despise chain link fence. A balmy 34 degrees - I've always been a little frosty so I didn't mind. "I walk along the avenue ..." " ... never thought I'd meet a gull like youuuu" ;) Gotta fly!- Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
