Sister Site: clevelandskyscrapers.com Updates!
I don't post about my site's updates too often, but there are some interesting additions to the "Unbuilt" section. One of my viewers scanned some old clippings from the Cleveland Press. Check 'em out :-) www.clevelandskyscrapers.com

Cleveland: Fulton Road Bridge
I don't function until 9:30 on Saturday mornings, but I'd love to see any pics/video.

Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
"I'm not really a big fan of the screens that seem to be getting plopped onto buildings lately, either. Is there a practical function to them?" They reduce sun glare and heat by providing shade, which reduces the need for air conditioning, and that applies toward a LEED rating. Aesthetically, they're supposed to read as a "diaphonus" screen but that doesn't always happen.

Random Abandoned OH pics
Fantastic work - and welcome to the forum!

Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
I'm seeing a "screen" similar to the NY Times Tower by Renzo Piano... and I'm not sure if that's a good thing.

Cleveland: Marketing the City
From cleveland.com: Cleveland+ chosen as 'brand' for region Advertising will tout tourism, business pluses Thursday, April 26, 2007 Sarah Hollander Plain Dealer Reporter Finding a catchy brand name for a 16-county area was no small task. Greater Cleveland and Metro Cleveland seemed too small in scope. The North Coast didn't resonate with out-of-towners. And Northeast Ohio was too big and fuzzy for the geographically challenged. Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
"They say that no matter what police and court officials say, Buford never did anything wrong. They don't care that Cleveland prosecutors said the shooting appears to have happened in self-defense. They want justice." Give me a f#cking break.

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
You can see a smidge of it in the photo below - just left of the AT&T Lakeside building. It's a bland 4-5 story shoebox of a building:

Ameritrust Center, Cleveland
It would really depend on the facade treatment - I also think the top could be tweaked. One thing I wouldn't change is the curved glass - so many people love the reflection of Terminal Tower in 55 Public Square and that curved glass would preserve that. I don't know that I'd care for the tower to be 1198' tall either - that could really overpower everything else in the skyline. As I've said before, I really like a similar KPF designed tower that was built in Montreal - I think something along these lines would work for the Ameritrust site:

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
It's actually in the 1st floor retail space of the KeyBank Center (former McD Inv.) parking garage - not terrible, I suppose.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I'm not addicted, I could give up coffee whenever I would want. Mind you, there would be widespread bloodshed and carnage, but I could quit! No, really!

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
I think they should demo 65-75 Erieview and expand the Avenue District.

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
I don't think there's any specific number - remember, when Key Tower was being built the vacancy rate was something like 19-21%. I would imagine that if they're targeting class A tenants, they'd focus on class A numbers.

Home Types
I share a 1900-built four-bedroom home (3300 sq. ft. including the finished basement) with my S.O. in Cleveland's Tremont neighborhood. I chose it because I moved in with him. He chose it because he was living in the area and it came on the market - he had considered the Payne Lofts and Fries and Scheule condos as well.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
1700 East 9th... they'll have their work cut out - you have Stone Oven in the Galleria (my personal favorite and they serve City Roast), Cork and Beans in the Huntington Building, the coffee shop inside Reserve Square (if they're open) not to mention the 3 Starbucks locations within a quick walk.

CLEVELAND - Time for a Sunday Drive!
Terminal Tower is undergoing a five-year restoration (I think it's about a year along now), and yes, my partner gave me the ring for Christmas (which he purchased from Tiffany & Co.) :-)

CLEVELAND - Time for a Sunday Drive!
So it was an absolutely gorgeous day and it was time for a leisurely drive in the convertible: Heading down Columbus Road: One of my favorite views of downtown, with the Columbus Road lift bridge to the left: A big freighter makes its way up the Cuyahoga River: Terminal Tower showing support for the Cavaliers! The Standard Building: War Memorial Fountain: Quay 55 apartments: We get off the highway near University Circle: Bridges and bicyclists! We snagged a nice parking spot near the Art Museum: Yes, they were playing cornhole :-P Photos of the CWRU campus: Because I am a complete goober, that's why: Over to the grounds of the Art Museum: The best sign, period. I thought some of you guys might enjoy this ;-) Severance Hall: Big Fun! Some residential stock in Cleveland Heights: This will be nice when they renovate it: Zipping down Carnegie Avenue: Gooo Guardian! Hope you enjoyed!

Cleveland: TV / Film Industry News
"So we're a bit overweight, we're friendlier than everyone else" Hey now - I have been busting my arse on the elliptical three times a week for six months in anticipation of swimsuit season! Grrrr... Seriously though, I thought it was great - although the skyline shot that goes from day to night was from 1991 - Key Tower was just getting finished.

Cleveland: TV / Film Industry News
"It's amazing all the naysaying that was going on about this episode before it even came out, and how it could only be bad. This seems to be way too typical of us C-towners and Ohio residents... It would be nice if all of us could see Cleveland in the same light as was "portrayed" in the show." I have to agree - Cleveland has produced a lot of great comics (from Bob Hope to Molly Shannon), but for some reason a lot of Clevelanders have lost a sense of humor and more importantly the ability to laugh at ourselves.

^Awesome, that's such a high-profile spot - I still can't understand why Cafe 56 closed there, they were always packed.
