CLEVELAND - At the Clinic and it AIN'T pretty!
Okay kids, I enjoy the fact that we can have fun banter back and forth, but let's steer it back on topic please - at least for another dozen posts or so :-)

Cleveland: Downtown: East 4th Street Developments
"7, going on 18 yo girl" Yep, that's how us babies of the family are! :-D MGD, it was like that around noon as well - I think it's gonna be a great fit for the area; I mean, it's Cleveland and bowling!

I'm so glad I don't have to wear a suit to work. So so glad. "The only workers downtown these days are lawyers and bankers it seems, which I would think would need suits." Not like they used to - it seems that business casual is the standard, unless people are meeting with clients.

My guess is that the grey below the cupola is some sort of primer, or that it's not the final color. (At least I hope it isn't!)

^Negotiate a better lease? Oh that's a hoot! I'm sure as with J. Crew and all the other departed stores, the Tower City rep (of FCE) will say "we aren't aware of any plans for them to leave". I kid you not, their manager said to Crains that she had no idea that J. Crew had any intentions of relocating to Crocker Park. I can't say I'm surprised - you have Tower City in decline (compared to what it used to be), and in general people aren't wearing suits any where near what they used to. Too bad though - I know it was a nice amenity for those who used it.

That would be the Disney concert hall in L.A. - not only were the reflections blinding pedestrians and adjacent shops, they were allegedly blinding drivers as well. I believe they sandblasted the offending portion and left the rest alone.

I know for a fact that the Cleveland Trust Tower is receiving (or will receive) brownfield redevelopment funds precisely for asbestos removal. The funds come from the State, but the developers have to ask the city to represent them in their request for funding.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Granted it isn't in Ohio City, and I'm guessing that everyone already knows - but the folks who own City Roast are the same people at Civilization in Tremont (thus, more convenient hours than the Market).

MTS... stop harassing the hets!

No, usually the sun is hitting the 515 garage from the south - I know this because I'm a complete geek. Whenever I take photos from the north side of the street (facing south), half of them end up being washed out. If the condos are built, it'll be a lot more reflection (vertically anyway).

Thank you for leaving Cleveland unsullied with the cacti :-D

^And here I thought I wouldn't have a drink tonight :drunk: Anyway, here is a shot of about 2/3rds of Corner Alley which occupies the first floor of these buildings (and then some). The building on the right serves as the entrance/lobby bar.

MyTwoSense, it might help your argument if you didn't fly off the handle every time someone dares to suggest that a particular neighborhood might have issues with crime/safety/blight/etc. Sure, someone might troll a thread and say something foolish like "all of the east side of Cleveland is a dump", but LAsam commented on his own observations and personal experiences. He didn't say all the residents of Cleveland between Case and CSU were crackheads, crackhos, or deadbeats, did he? What he did offer was a chance for you (and other forumers) to educate him on 1. redevelopment efforts, 2. the differences between perception and reality, 3. what improvements still need to be made. I've been through the Kimmelbrook Homes in Youngstown, Talbot Avenue in Akron, countless dicey areas in Cleveland, Bed-Stuy and Bushwick in Brooklyn (LONG before any gentrification came along), etc. No, I never lived there but I spent enough time in each place to get a good feel for how things were. Though I came out unscathed, I didn't always feel very safe - and statistically, those areas weren't the safest, the infrastructure was usually blighted, and (gasp!) - there were people of other races who happened to live there. Now - does my not feeling safe in those places make me a racist, or am I simply telling you what I observed?

Yeesh, the Nordstrom at Beachwood Place is 225,000 sq. ft. and I thought the Columbus store was absurdly small.

Usually the shops are closed by 4pm, but if you want to see the place hopping - stop by during weekday lunch.
