CLEVELAND - Been waiting for a Goodtime to come back
All the above mentioned places are lovely and have their claims to fame. I'm just sayin' - Cleveland was the setting for an Emmy winning comedy with 128 episodes featuring Betty White and a photo I took on a lunch break in 2006 ?

First and foremost, to those providing insight from your roles in the design/construction industry, thank you for being here - appreciated more than you know. Regarding the engagement with minority communities, as X stated - it's a timely issue, but also a sensitive one. That said, it's not rocket science to think before you post and decide if you're posting something that will take the thread off topic.

Adding new retail to a region that's over-retailed with a declining/stagnant population is like stretching out a piece of swiss cheese and then wondering why everything feels spread so thin.

Posting photos
@richNcincy@ColDayMan I don't know if it's something I'm doing but for whatever reason, the photos I upload to an existing thread won't post in the order I've uploaded them. I've kept the naming convention sequential, and uploaded them in batches of ten (gtiii2020_80, gtiii2020_81, etc.) and they still get jumbled. Any suggestions?

CLEVELAND - Been waiting for a Goodtime to come back
^ I know they've had equipment on the crown before, I just don't recall them being so obnoxious. Anyhoo, added about 40 more pics (and still not even to the half-way point of the cruise) - enjoy!

CLEVELAND - Been waiting for a Goodtime to come back
What can I say, 2020 has been one h3ll of a year, and so many of the events that I not only looked forward to but also kept me happy and grounded taking photos went 'poof' thanks to COVID-19. With that, I'm finding my comfort level as things go along, i.e. indoor events with lots of people = a hard NO, but outdoor happenings with mask requirements and social distancing ... I can maybe work with that. Thanks to the staff at Goodtime III - with calling ahead, my husband and I snagged a spot on the top deck. When we got there, I soon realized we were the only people on the uppermost deck and due to the Goodtime's COVID relating seating policies, that was the case the entire cruise. I know it's not ideal for their business model, but for a photographer who zips back and forth from either side of the ship, it was one of the first 'good times' I've had since things took a turn for the worse. Any other photographers out there looking to support a local business and get some great photo opps, I highly encourage checking them out. I'm going to upload these in batches as I get them processed - probably going to be well over 100 by the time I'm done. Normally, I'd link to 'Good Times' by Chic, but I'm waiting for those times to come back like this. Hope everyone is healthy, safe and well and has a great holiday weekend. I'm under the impression this is a rental yacht out of Chicago? A little choppy so we didn't go out past the breakwall. Oh good, my pilot finally brought my ride! ? Love how the different sections bounce between matte/shine: Back in 2016, there were about 100 more police on bicycles practicing in this same spot: Since I don't get out on the Lake much lately, when did Key Tower add the satellite discs on their crown? Seriously, Key Tower has some weird face looking things going on: I'm a bit on the salty side so I'm cool with this. Sincere question - I know a lot of cities have bridges, quite a few have lift bridges but how many can pull together a pic like this? New and full figured vs. classic and svelte This was a pleasant surprise when I realized how much was going on in this pic: Another pleasant surprise on the framing of this: Added another batch, 9/5/2020 Added September 9th:

Sorry you experienced that - it seemed like lower decks are given corresponding seating assignments on both the indoor and outdoor spots? Not sure how things played out on other decks, but we literally had the top all to ourselves. Someone started coming up the steps from third deck and one of the staff said "sorry, everyone has to be in their assigned areas".

I'll be posting a photo thread based on the 1,355 photos I took a few hours ago on the Goodtime III, but wanted to throw it out there. I always go on a cruise at least once a year, and finally got around to it today. For anyone looking for something to do (especially great photo opps), I highly recommend it, especially this time of year as the humidity starts to drop (crisper pics, etc.). For anybody like me who isn't taking chances - they do temperature checks before boarding, masks are required unless people are seated at their assigned areas, and as far as social distancing - I called ahead and requested a table on the top outdoor (4th deck). Imagine my surprise when my husband and I were the only ones on the top deck the. entire. time. I know it's not good for their business but I literally put in 5,000 steps going from side to side, and not one shot of the back of someone's head. I know it's a splurge and times are tough but if you need an excuse to get out on the water and snap some shots - and support a locally owned business, highly recommend. Info on their cruises for the rest of the year (apologies for all caps - copied/pasted from their site): https://goodtimeiii.com/ THE NARRATED SIGHTSEEING CRUISE WILL BE AVAILABLE ON FRIDAYS, SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS FROM 3PM-5PM THROUGH SEPTEMBER 6TH AND FROM 2PM-4PM ON FRIDAYS, SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 11TH THROUGH SEPTEMBER 27TH. WE WILL OFFER A FAMILY-FRIENDLY SUNSET EVENING CRUISE ON THURSDAYS, FRIDAYS, SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS FROM 7PM-9PM THROUGH LABOR DAY WEEKEND, THEN ON FRIDAYS, SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS FROM 6:30PM-8:30PM BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 10TH THROUGH SEPTEMBER 27TH. @mrclifton88 Found a few of these from 2014, when I was at the top of 200 Public Square (outside on the lower most "step") - building with the red UH billboard on the side: Just now realized on the far left on the horizon - that's "Rex's Erection" in Cuyahoga Falls! I think I see my house! ?

Since 2011 doesn't qualify as historic (but it seems like a lifetime ago), I'm putting these here. Going through my archives to do some backups and came across these. When I migrated my site to Squarespace in 2014, it broke the links to images I had posted here - if anyone has requests about specific projects and you want to take a walk down memory lane, let me know and I'll see what I can dig up. ? There's no discussion to be had, especially since E Rocc's ignorant remark got him a few days off. Tread very carefully folks and think before you post.

Cleveland: Random Visualizations & Massings
Actually the perfect place to ask/post and glad this thread was created for just that purpose. A brief history - I've been on skyscraperpage.com's (SSP) forum since 1997 (good lord Jesus, I was *25* when I joined! ?) - same screen name as I have here. For a long time it was well run (not to toot my own horn but at one time I was a moderator there), threads were kept on topic, etc. and then over time it just started falling apart. I think about two years ago, intrusive ads/spam made it largely unusable for a lot of people, myself included. The Admins/ownership just either got lackadaisical and let threads go off the rails, or weren't engaged when the tech issues came up, or in a few cases jumped into the 'power vacuum' and ran roughshod over whatever threads they got involved in. That's when I stopped updating the City Compilation thread for Cleveland and redirected the traffic here. Note that @richNcincyhas consistently kept the tech end of things a LOT more up to date than skyscraperpage.com. Fyi, UrbanOhio's forum is actually a spinoff of skyscraper page.com and skyscrapercity.com's forums. As far as the SSP diagram for Cleveland - I can reach out on your behalf to the few moderators I'm still in contact with if you want to try again, *or* perhaps that's something we can add to our forum/site? I fully admit my rendering skills are nowhere near what you see on SSP, but I created some of the first that were posted there. I could dig up my old renderings for starters and then If there's any interest and people want to take a crack at creating new and updated renderings, I'm all for it.

That's almost exactly the same color scheme of my car ... not 100% sure it works for a high-rise but eh, nothing wrong with a little variety ?

Found this from back in 2011 when the rumors were swirling that a Westin Hotel was going to be the convention center hotel. I photoshopped a rendering of the Ritz Carlton Toronto; guess my rendering wasn't too far off! ?
