Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon
Not sure how I missed this, but this was just a well timed shot with an iPhone 6s, and the only Photoshopping was cropping and one application of the Sharpen filter. The most important element was my husband keeping the car steady while navigating traffic on the Innerbelt :)

Cleveland: Downtown: The Centennial (925 Euclid Redevelopment)
^The space was used as a restaurant - the most recent use was Sammy's at the Metropolitan. I always had a soft spot for the place as that's where I inked my book deal back in 2001 :) This flickr album has some good shots: https://www.flickr.com/photos/heidzillas/sets/72157624252534252/

Cleveland City Council
Former downtown Cleveland City Councilman Joe Cimperman charged in Ohio Ethics Commission investigation By Cory Shaffer, cleveland.com CShafferCleveland[/member].com CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Former Cleveland City Councilman Joe Cimperman was charged Wednesday with 26 misdemeanors related to his involvement in city contracts with a design firm that employed his wife. Cimperman was charged with having an unlawful interest in a public contract, a first-degree misdemeanor. The offenses date back to 2002, according to court records. The charges were filed by information, which usually signals that defendants have reached an agreement to plead guilty. Cleveland: Retail News
Cleveland's had similar in existing buildings - 5th Street Arcades recently, the Arcade (Hyatt) in its heyday but whatever it takes retail marketers to put a new spin on things. One thing I'd love to see go away is the use of the word "curated", outside of an art museum's collection.

To be named Illumen- not sure on spelling.

Quite the turnout for the groundbreaking; I’d say a few hundred people.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Lumen
Keep in mind there will be a lengthy time of site prep - from what I understand they'll be using caissons for support, like the Hilton. Groundbreaking for that was I believe January/February and the tower crane didn't appear until the end of July. Not that I'm any less excited but the tower crane won't be appearing next week ;)

Cleveland: Downtown: The Lumen
Before we go off on a "name that tower" tangent - naming rights aren't very common for residential structures and even then the name of building is usually more of a marketing ploy than anything else.

Cincinnati in the 1980s!
Key is 57 office floors (63 total floors if you count the maintenance floors inside the crown/pyramid) and 200 Public Square is 45 floors but you have a point that for better or worse, they're quite bulky. Also, while it doesn't add much too the skyline, the Marriott at Key Center was built at the same time, and site prep for Fifth Third (formerly Bank One) Center started in 1989.
