Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon
Good point, I may have worked for a bank but never on the financial side. ”It appears that they are doing renovations to the outside of the Arcade in that picture. If my recollection serves me correctly, the Hyatt bought and began renovations in late 2001? They actually opened on my birthday (May 1st/May Day) in 2001 so guessing this pic is from 2000ish.

I was clearing out my old photo (film) archives and came across this - thought some might appreciate the blast from the past. I'm not 100% sure of the date but definitely before Fall of 2005 because the KeyBank logo hadn't been hadn't installed yet. Also, the first photo posts in this thread show demolition starting in 2004 but beyond that, no clue on the date. The billboard atop the corner building was a leftover from the days when savings accounts actually earned interest worth mentioning.

From some angles, this building will fill in a gap; from others it's adding another layer to the view. From Gateway parking garage:- Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon

”I believe the photo is courtesy of MayDay, but it's the best northbound view I could find on google. Sorry if I ripped it, but i couldn't find anything better.” You’ll be hearing from my attorney. KIDDING! View is from Hinckley Industrial Parkway and Spring Road. Nice job on that; only edit I can think of is Playhouse Square Tower is a smidge too tall.- Cleveland: University Circle: Cleveland Clinic Developments

"...and there is a ton of manufacturing and light industry out there, especially around Ontario, but for the most part, it's just sprawl." Yep, and getting worse - I have family near Lake Elsinore; the daily commute over the Ortega to San Clemente used to be 45 minutes - it's now well over two hours. They work in residential construction so even if transit was available, it wouldn't be feasible. I was just there earlier this month and they were pointing out new subdivisions (the smallest had 300+ homes) going in along the 15 from Temecula to Corona and there's no escaping the god-awful traffic.- Cleveland: Retail News
^They had one heck of a run but sad to see them close. Back in 1996 when I started clevelandskyscrapers.com I was shooting with a Minolta 140EX and took my film to them so I could scan the prints and upload to the site. :-[- Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon
Check the renderings - the tower will only occupy the eastern portion of the garage.- Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon

Very cool - thanks for posting and sorry for your loss. You might want to check with the folks at Cleveland Public Library's photo collection - I think they can help with identifying buildings and/or scanning photos for archiving. https://cpl.org/subjectscollections/photograph-collection/- Cleveland: Random Quick Questions

Snapped a quick pic from the Innerbelt, not visible here but good to see the steel is going up. Thanks to the recent work, it's easier to see the elevator core and get an idea of where this will fill in a skyline gap :)- Cleveland: One University Circle

View from the Terminal Tower observation deck (fyi, they have extended hours on Saturday/Sunday until Dec. 17th*). As you can see, lots of rebar work which I presume is to shore up the elevator core - after all, the steel has to be attached to *something* ;) *https://www.eventbrite.com/e/terminal-tower-observation-deck-self-guided-tour-tickets-33127241471- Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon
^That's been ongoing for a while - not sure to what extent they plan to remove it. What I *am* sure about - we've got some "world class signage*"!!! ;D *For those who weren't around - the phrase was used in some promotional materials for the construction of the Avenue District tower.- Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon

"Not sure how long they've been available, but there will come a time when millennials realize renting for $2k a month is just plain stupid." Any chance there's some for-sale housing in your background as an RE Developer in Training that might make you a little biased? ;)- Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
There are threads (or threads that any forumer are welcome to create) where discussions about various cultures’ loitering rituals, retail trends, personal attributes as they pertain to gladiatorial prowess, etc. are perfectly appropriate. This isn’t the place. - Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon
