Pfft. Amateur crane watchers. :-D "Putting the crane in the out-of-service condition generally includes ensuring that the jib is free to “weather vane” when out of service so that the minimum wind area is presented to the prevailing wind. On luffing jib tower cranes it is also important that the jib is left at the correct out of service radius (specified by the crane manufacturer, which is not always the minimum radius. This will ensure that there is sufficient wind area to enable the crane to “weather vane” http://www.ritchiestraining.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Tower-Crane-Operators-Handbook-LR.pdf The most activity I've seen (including today around noon) was some scaffolding being dropped off - looks like they're setting that up around the existing elevator core.- Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon

Not able to upload photos at the moment but there's what appears to be a tower crane being assembled on East Sixth Street between Superior and St. Clair.Asked one of the workers and they pointed at the Federal Reserve Bank - rather odd for an existing building, right?- Cleveland: Tremont: Development and News
Love the pizza at Crust but it will be odd seeing them set up where my mother in law's calling hours took place. :|- Cleveland: Scranton Peninsula: Development and News

I agree with the author on quite a few points, especially the placement and functions of the parking garage. My question is what would their firm propose? Unless I'm missing something, the most high profile *built* project in their portfolio is the rework of the Galleria's East Ninth/St. Clair section into Dollar Bank's regional headquarters. The most envelope pushing design I saw on their site was redesigning the top floors of the Tower at Erieview into condos, and even then nothing made me say "wow, waaay better and more creative than SCB". :wtf: http://www.eberhardarchitects.com/- Career Networking / Job Posting Thread

- Cleveland- Working in the Caxton Building
Worked there 20 years ago - first job in downtown Cleveland with an agency specializing in help wanted ads for newspapers :-o . I'm sure the spaces have been redone but the building has a ton of character, lots of light with the large windows and as it was built to hold printing presses, it feels *solid*. The location was mostly a blessing and infrequently a curse - convenient to everything, but getting out during big events could be a headache; of course, this was well before telecommuting was common. - Cleveland: University Circle: Centric Development (formerly Intesa)
