CLEVELAND - Getting back on track with a Goodtime!
It's not summer in Cleveland if I don't get a trip on the Goodtime III at least once. I'd never done a 3pm tour and then one day the forecast was temps in the 60s and low humidity so I figured what better day? Super-crisp line of demarcation between the sky and the water = low humidity :-) New restaurant on the East Ninth Street pier: Not too many companies can say their offices offer on-site boat parking ;-) Inbound freighter: And we're off - apologies in advance for the gratuitous shots of the new Hilton. What can I say - my website is clevelandskyscrapers.com and it's not often we have a new one to talk about! ;-) Bicycle-mounted law enforcement training drills for the upcoming Republican National Convention: Hey, something ain't right here... That's more like it! I know the container shipping business is booming at the Port of Cleveland but I don't think I've ever seen this many at one time. Remember when this was the new glassy tower on the block? Making our way up the Cuyahoga, passing the Nautica Queen: Much improved over the vacant buildings that used to be there but looking forward to the next phase: What the...? Okay, now we're talking! I believe the blank retail space is slated for the Rascal Flatts restaurant - definitely not my cup of tea but hopefully it does well: It seems like yesterday there was "nothing to see, move along" in this area: Ah well, more pics along the Cuyahoga: Anyone else remember the days when we had time to complain this building needed a good scrubbing? :-) Time to turn around at Collision Bend (fortunately we made it through unscathed): Hopefully soon, there will be some spillover investment south of the Main Avenue Bridge: Passing the former Coast Guard Station - glad to see it's being taken care of and redeveloped. And pardon the excess pics from northeast of downtown - part of the reason the humidity was so low was high winds; they went briefly went beyond the breakwall and then turned back due to choppy water during which time guests weren't permitted on the steps between decks. Fortunately I'm not prone to motion sickness :| Hope you enjoyed! had a Goodtime! :-)

CLEVELAND - Catching up with Champions
As the title says, it's been a busy summer so I'm trying to catch up with photo threads - this batch is from the epic championship parade for the Cleveland Cavaliers  I'd never seen anything like this - I live in Tremont and people were parking there and walking; I heard others parked their cars on the side of highway offramps near downtown - just unreal. Crowds starting to fill in at East Ninth and Superior: Crowds REALLY filling in at East Ninth and Superior: As the meme said "Cleveland - we didn't burn our city down, we just climbed all over it!" :-D Lots of more interesting 'perches' ahead: I found a decent spot at 925 Euclid - fortunately one of the column bases was open which boosted me up a little. To give you an idea of the crowds on East Ninth - scroll ---> Cavs spirit squad: Cavs mascot: Lake Erie Monsters hockey team - the Calder Cup champions: Machine Gun Kelly - the crowd went nuts when he started performing "Till I Die" :-) Cleveland Gladiators arena football team: Legendary Browns player, Jim Brown: Cavs owner Dan Gilbert and family: Cavs Head Coach, Tyronn Lue: JR "who needs a shirt when you have a Ring!" Smith :-D Kyrie Irving - people were throwing shirts, etc. for autographs: Then inexplicably, some dumbss[/member] threw their phone? Unfortunately (but understandably due to security, etc.) Lebron was in a car instead of up on a truck, so waaay too many people in the way to get a great shot. Ah well, the team made enough great shots this year we got to have this awesome parade so I'll let it slide ... this year :-D Richard Jefferson, who is hopefully enjoying a well-earned retirement: Time to make my way over to the main event at Mall B - I could NOT believe how many people were just *everywhere*: Finally over at the Convention Center overlook at Mall B - I'm not a huge fan of giant crowds in confined spaces so I stayed further back. Still was an amazing site :-) The parade *finally* made its way through the teeming masses: Crowds at Mall B ------> Hope you enjoyed, I know I did - GO CAVS!!!

Career Networking / Job Posting Thread
Stability's a beautiful thing but I had a two and a half year gig at KeyBank via an agency - mind you, not all agencies are the same. The agency that placed me specialized in creative/tech placements and they offered medical/dental/vision/401K/etc. - I can't speak for the Creative Group but it couldn't hurt. Also, check your messages :-)

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
There's legitimate scrutiny and criticism and then there's either beating a dead horse or being 'Chicken Little' to the point it takes a thread off topic. We do our best to accommodate as many points of view within reason but it would be great if forumers would take a moment to consider what (if anything) they are contributing to the discussions before they hit 'Post'.

CLEVELAND - Get the hiatus outta here!
It's been a busy year with work and some travel, so just now getting around to posting a photo thread. Opening with a nice crisp shot where I wish I had my DSLR on me but the iPhone pic ain't too shabby. My company had an event in the 925 Euclid building's atrium; fortunately I got some photos - unfortunately they had a minimal amount of the lights turned on so apologies for the wonky flash shots. No reason to cry foul or quack up, just some shots from out and about: St. Patrick's Day didn't mark the end of cold and snow but at least we ended up with a sunny (albeit chilly) day. "And YOU get a parade, and YOU get a parade, and YOU get a parade!!!" Anyone remember the arcade game "Skate or Die!" :yap: The new Hilton, pre-upper floor signage: Some photos from a quick trip to University of Akron for an event: Exchange Street is a lot different from my memories from the mid-90s! With the exception of Thursdays ... :yap: Now *that's* how to build a grocery store in an urban setting  Only had my iPhone for this but if you ever get a chance to see a show at Trinity Cathedral, go for it. We saw Belinda Carlisle and it's just one of the coolest settings for a rock/pop concert. If not for a show, check the place out - it's an incredible place with a lot of history: Things are looking (and building) up :-) Speaking of up - how about some high-brow culture from the Cleveland Museum of Art, including some special exhibits for their centennial birthday and the blockbuster 'Pharaoh' exhibit: Enough high-brow, let's get down to the Flats: Uh oh, a case of the bends - the Irishtown Bends  Over to the recently opened Drury Plaza hotel in the former Board of Education building - don't know about the rooms but the lobby looks great. One nice thing - when the Board of Education resided here, the doors facing Mall A were always locked. Now we finally have one of the Group Plan buildings that opens onto the Mall - kinda cool if you ask me. The much-maligned canopy... eh, not as awful as I had imagined so that was a pleasant surprise: Took me as long to put these photos together as it did for the Hilton signage to go up: The Schofield Building looks amazing from the Azure rooftop lounge at the 9: Obligatory zoom in views of Euclid Avenue: Some shots from Fast and Furious 8 - saw some action shots but didn't have my camera with me at the time, ah well. And wrapping it up with the soon to be opened redeveloped Public Square: Hope you enjoyed!

Things to do if you want a thread locked and pruned: 1. Make off topic posts. 2. Decide you HAVE to add onto those off topics even though the discussion is days, even weeks old. *cough*E Rocc*cough*- Cleveland: Which Project Will Be Next and Why
