Hope you don't mind one more step - I like to remove the 'keystoning' effect.

I snapped this photo this afternoon - I think it gives a hint at how that angled section is going to shape up:

As long as you're not on Euclid Avenue... looking straight down at the sidewalks between Public Square and Playhouse Square. I can't remember how long it's been that way but the lopped-off tree stubs, rusting 'MEH' (initials of the artist who designed them) grates and uneven pavers aren't doing any favors for marketing the city.- Recommendations for Visit to Cleveland

Thanks everyone! TBideon[/member] I guess "semi-pro" would be more appropriate - some of my work has been in local ads/media, I've done some event/tradeshow work and then the opening photo for 'Hot in Cleveland'; not enough to go full-time but it's all good.- Cleveland: Downtown: The Centennial (925 Euclid Redevelopment)
Let's keep it on topic; the comments on FreshWater can be debated on their site, not here.- CLEVELAND - A Gift on Lake Erie
One of my favorite events every summer in Cleveland is the GIFT Cruise - it's a benefit for the Gay Invitational Fellowship Tournament, a gay bowling league tournament. I'm not a bowler and I doubt most of the attendees are, but it's always a good time. Oh yeah, it's on the Goodtime III, and every year I've gone the weather has been decent to great - this time it was so-so, there were storm clouds to the north and south and the route didn't make it very far down the Cuyahoga but I still managed to get some nice shots. Federal Building reclad is plugging along: Boaters making use of the new transient marina: All kinds of watercraft on the Lake: Sorry about the gratuitous photos of the Hilton construction - not that often we see tall buildings go up, so why not: Apparently the container shipping business at the Port of Cleveland is double what it used to be? I'm guessing it was either the threatening weather or multiple ore freighters further along the river, but this was as far down the Cuyahoga as we got. :| Hope you enjoyed!- Cleveland: Warehouse District: Development and News

Dibs on the top floor, northeast unit with rights to build a rooftop deck.- Cleveland: Tremont: Development and News
I don't see central Tremont (aka the area within a 10 minute walk of Literary and Professor) getting much higher density for the time being, but I think the areas adjacent to northeast Tremont (south of Clark, west of the Innerbelt) are definitely seeing an uptick in rehabs. Then you have Duck Island which has new townhomes selling north of $400K - can't say I would have imagined that a few years ago.- Cleveland: TV / Film Industry News
It's a bittersweet evening for me - the last episode of 'Hot in Cleveland' is airing tonight at 10pm on TV Land. As you may or may not know, a photo I took from CSU's Rhodes Tower on a lunch break in 2006 ended up as the opening graphic for the show. That lead to a series of events that could only be described as 'bucket list' material (meeting the cast, the show being aired in over 200 countries, etc.). I guess there's some truth to the saying "don't be sad it's ending; be glad it happened". :|- Canal Basin Park and Lake Link Trail
^You're welcome! I have a few more in a new photo thread http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/topic,30142.msg758215.html#new- CLEVELAND - Decks and Trails, Ducks and Links?
As the weather improves, I've been trying to get out and about more - recently I visited the sky 'deck' at the 9, visited a (new to me) portion of the Towpath, checked out some of the construction going on in Duck Island, and took a walk on the new Lake Link trail. Of course, there are some random photos thrown in for good measure. Might as well start with the Hilton, still plugging along: Not that Key Tower ever looks small, but from the roof of the Convention Center it looks ginormous. Some folks not happy with Mayor Frank Jackson - the person in the blue cap never moved the sign away so makes you wonder what they're hiding. The former Board of Education building getting a thorough cleaning: The Garfield Building - a good amount of bricks fell from the cornice not too long ago so they're inspecting to make sure it's stable: Alright, over to the "sky deck" at the 9, located on top of the Swetland Building - it's called 'Azure' but being Cleveland, I'd suggest 'The Cloud Deck' ;-) Fortunately the skies *were* azure when I stopped by: The Swetland Building has an "H" shaped footprint so there are seating areas at each 'corner'. Hard to believe this building dodge a bullet twice - once in the 1970s when a twin tower for the Cleveland Trust building was proposed and in the 2000s when the Cuyahoga County commissioners proposed tearing it down (and the Cleveland Trust Tower) for a new administration building: Back to ground level, the restored 'Mondrian-esque' windows of the first floor: Not the biggest fan of the name 'The 9' but considering how well they pulled it off I'm not going to complain: Usually some higher-end vehicles parked out front: Next up, a visit to the Towpath Trail - been trying to get out and explore sections I haven't been to so this time it was the stretch between Rockside Road and the Canal Discovery Center. First, gotta grab lunch so we went to the Winking Lizard in Independence - the patio has a great view of downtown: Not that Cleveland's topography is *that* dynamic but it's not completely flat: Onto the trail: Always a treat to see a Great Blue Heron: Time to head back - it's about 1.75 miles as the crow... err, goose flies: Once again, the heron. Looks like we caught him during his lunch break: Time to get back to civilization: Alright, a few photos of the old and new in Duck Island, located west of Tremont and east of Ohio City. This building will be home to a variety of businesses, including a brewery and a meadery (X, one of our Moderators is the proprietor of the meadery; methinks we'll have to have a mead-up, nyuk nyuk) A local landmark - not sure how long this structure will remain. I know it's old-school and kitschy but there's something charming about it: Directly across the street: Typical Duck Island homes: Is this *one* house?! Newer, but 'older' newer construction: Duck Island sits in the shadows of the western pylons of the Hope Memorial Bridge: Skyline view from West 17th and Lorain: Northern end of Duck Island on Columbus Road - these have been selling in the mid to upper $300K range; not my style but it's a great location: Here we are, the Scranton Flats section of the Towpath; the Lake Link trail bridge is over Scranton Road: This stretch just recently opened, so we had it almost all to ourselves: This section of the trail skims Duck Island at a slightly lower elevation: Hey, we got a mountain range! :| The next section will continue on to the lakefront - all in good time: Let's try to see the Forest City for the trees :yap: This section will connect to the northern end of the Tremont neighborhood: And of course as we were wrapping it up, the sun comes out - ah well, things are looking brighter :-) Hope you enjoyed!- Cleveland: Flats East Bank

Wait - the former Clau is now a gay bar with shootouts around hip-hop nights? Trying to get my brain around that.- Canal Basin Park and Lake Link Trail
Not too many people out and about - it was pretty warm and humid with storms threatening (which hit later that evening). Plus, this section is relatively new and the direct connections to Duck Island (Columbus Road) and Tremont (University Road) aren't open yet. Once that happens I'm sure more people will utilize it. - Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
