"It's tough having the idea of the designs come through when your sewing skills aren't pro quality" And even if they were, they need to get out of academia and understand proportions and what's flattering and what's not. No woman wants her legs to look shorter - a good amount of those designs you posted do just that.

Okay folks, I'm going to snag one of the communal tables by the windows facing East 9th. The forecast is for rain showers, so heads up.

CLEVELAND - Yes, we did have a few decent weather days, right?
Okay, it's been a brutal winter - we've usually had a couple of crappy days broken up with a few 'meh' days but at this point, I'll take what I can get. Captions will be added later:

^Those aren't shades; that's the fritted glass that reduces heat from the sun but on a visual level I despise it - from the inside it ruins the view, from the outside it looks like they're having condensation issues:

CLEVELAND - Downtown Forum Lunch Meet - July 30th or July 31st? (see last page)
I can probably make it, but not sure if we want to stick to a set day in case some can't do Wednesdays at all.

^Ehhh, I can see a slight resemblance as a glass box but that's it. The angled facade and crown, the cut-out and of course no balconies - apt. tower vs. hotel, after all.

"In other news, Twist, one of the last businesses in the strip on the southeast corner of Clifton and 117th will likely be closing very soon, as the owner is now in Hospice." Both Market Cafe and Kafeteria are good logistically; if we have some attendees driving in, Market Cafe would probably be preferable. We have plenty of time to plan :-)- CLEVELAND - Downtown Forum Lunch Meet - July 30th or July 31st? (see last page)
Hi all, as the weather looks like we're eventually going to thaw, I wanted to gauge the interest in having a casual forum meet for lunch. No specific date has been set, no venue has been selected, just throwing it out there to see if anyone would be interested. It's always nice to put a face to the screenname and I think a lot of people make more sense once you've met them in person. That said, here are the parameters: 1. Day of the week - I'm pretty flexible but it mostly depends on the projects I'm working on. 2. Location - somewhere central between East and West 9th, north of Huron, south of St. Clair. Sorry but no Flats East Bank, Asiatown, Ohio City, or somewhere not in the aforementioned boundaries. If a handful can make it, we'll probably go with a designated restaurant (inexpensive, locally owned and not too crowded is preferred); if a dozen or more can make it, we'll probably go with brownbagging it and meet at a designated gathering spot. 3. Time - 11:30ish/noon to 1ish aka standard lunch hour or however long you're able to stay. 4. Date - let's wait until we have a forecast of at least 40F and preferably no sideways rain. Things look somewhat promising toward the end of February. 5. Just to clarify - UrbanOhio is not paying for your lunch :-) So at this point just reply if it's something you might be interested in - thanks!- Cleveland: Cleveland Institute of Art Expansion
