"I'm sure you're right on Mr Veysey being a great guy, but if there's one thing that matters in politics, name recognition is everything." Not that I disagree, but that hasn't exactly been a good thing in Cuyahoga County :|
  2. jssdecker, thank you for posting those photos here on UrbanOhio - very much appreciated!

    Whoa!
  4. Not a bad view from the dentist's chair:
  5. I've seen those tapered columns in a lot of Craftsman-style homes; that motif appears on the porch columns, the stairwell cut-out and the divider. The brackets under the eaves are another Craftsman element.
  6. ^And with that, let's get back to the discussion of actual construction.
  7. Folks, if you can't disagree with someone without making personal insults, your posts will be removed and your account will be suspended.
  8. 'A' for effort but the execution and final product, not so much.
  9. I think we already have the perfect tribute to the Cuyahoga river fires :-)
  10. ^It's been there for a while; it's located in the Bertram Inn.
  11. ^^It's been a while but usually there is someone posted in the vestibule at Tower City; not sure if I ever saw Tower City security outside on any regular basis.
  12. "Is that image under creative Commons licensing?" If cincinnatihomeloan.net doesn't have explicit permission to use the image, they're using that image in violation of federal copyright laws.
  13. Great job, RnR! :-)
  14. ^To each their own; my good friends in Cincy are happy and living the good life. :-)
  15. ^I think there are plenty of worse shows out there. But what do I know, 'Hot in Cleveland' was picked up for a fourth season :-)

If you mean the top of the hipped roof, just below and between the spires - that's not glass, that's HVAC vents.
  17. I really to stop down there sometime; I probably wouldn't recognize downtown but that's a good thing (it was pretty frumpy during my years at Kent).

"Erieview could have a much different view." Oh yeah, and it's a good one! :-)http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/topic,15215.msg253974.html#msg253974

^Thanks for the suggestion, but as far as setting up the forum, the credit goes to richNcincy and ColDayMan :-)

^Could you explain a little more about the requirement for promoting North Collinwood?

It's amazing to get to see those views, isn't it? What floor were you on? Trust me, if you're able to finaggle it and your contacts there can make it happen, get up to the base of the crown - you'll likely have to sign a waiver, and it's unnerving to be up that high but it's SO worth it. Anyway, I didn't think the glares/reflections were too bad but sometimes, if you put the camera lense carefully flush against the glass, that will help. E Rocc, I know that 57 (the uppermost office floor) is now home to a law firm - for the longest time it was unfinished, but Jacobs never had offices in Key Tower. "great views. I assume these were taken from a private location, that there's no public observation deck there. If not, why not? This is the tallest building in Cleveland, right?" It was never designed nor intended to have a public observation deck.
