Yikes-less than two weeks for the "Show us your Cleveland" Photo contest
It's good to see they've added a separate category for HDR - it'd be better to see a "no HDR" rule enforced when appropriate ;-)

heatohio and kennybabes have earned themselves some time off. Folks, there are forums where profanity-laced insults at other forumers might fly, but not here.

In all seriousness, this weekend I'll be taking some photos of whatever is going on, so we'll see.

^Well the crane is somewhat visible from the Valley View bridge (no pics, it was too hazy that day) :-) Anyway, no craning necks in these shots - just some more photos to show where she'll fit in the skyline: As much as I hate the fence on the Detroit-Superior bridge, I thought this was kinda cool the way the lense managed to focus past it:

^That's the Nestle plant expansion -- I *think* it's been mentioned on the forum or cleveland.com. *EDIT* - here you go: Nestle launches $20 million-plus expansion in Cleveland, plans global research facility in Solon Published: Thursday, August 18, 2011, 6:00 AM By Michelle Jarboe McFee, The Plain Dealer CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Global food giant Nestlé is gobbling up space in Northeast Ohio, with an expansion starting at its longtime Cleveland manufacturing plant and a major research facility planned in Solon. Per their PR person who relayed the information from Gilbane (construction company) - "293' above level 4 which is considered ground level." So yep, around 330-350 :-)- Cleveland - Wendy Park
'Bella Uno' It certainly is a beautiful one. 'Bella Una' ;-) According to what I found, it was built for a Walgreen's heiress? Curious who owns it and what brought them (or whoever chartered it) to Cleveland. It looks like a junior version of Wexner's 'Limitless'. http://www.burgerboat.com/brokerage/index.cfm?fuseaction=Search.viewyacht&yachtid=71- Cleveland: Flats East Bank
It's not 2013 yet, but these photos will have to do: From the patio at the Harp: And from Cliff Drive:- Cleveland: Flats East Bank

"Louis Kahn had a great quote once, "the city is a place where a young boy may find what he wants to do for the rest of his life." When I was six years old (in 1978, when the city had declared default and if cleveland.com had existed back then, one could only imagine the comments section), I made my first visit to downtown Cleveland with my family. I remember very vividly seeing the Arcade, the Terminal Tower, etc. I definitely don't remember my parents bickering about finding cheap/free parking that was close to wherever we wanted to be. Being from a working class family from Appalachian Ohio, I certainly wouldn't blame them if they tried to find free parking - but that isn't what I'm grateful for, and it sure as hell isn't what I remember from that day. Seeing the Arcade, the Terminal Tower, etc. left an incredible impression - one that's always stuck with me. It was an impression that inspired me 20 years later (when I landed a job in downtown Cleveland) to take a lot of photos of buildings and put together a website of the built environment of downtown Cleveland. 25 years after that first visit as a kid, I landed a book deal based on my website (mind you - the publishers approached me - how many published authors does that happen for?), and now about 5,000 people have a copy of my book on their coffee table. 32 years after that 1978 visit, the producers of a TV sitcom spotted a photo that they thought would be a good fit for their show - and that photo is now seen by about 50 million people in 170 countries. And all of that - yeah, it started when my parents decided to take me for a little walk around downtown Cleveland in 1978 - pre-Great Lakes Science Center, pre-Rock Hall, post-Euclid Avenue shopping heyday, sans splash parks, etc. I'm just saying :-)- Cleveland: Flats East Bank

^^North Point is 286 feet - just curious how do you calculate 340'? I'd love to see it that tall, but the numbers of 18 office floors, 3 parking floors just don't add up to 340 from what I can tell.- Cleveland: Flats East Bank
Thanks guys - that was with the cellphone, so I'm hoping to get something with the DSLR this weekend. I've had to find further away spots now that the crane is up. The parking lot I used to use and standing by the fence on Main Avenue are too close to get everything in one shot.- Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
