Cincinnati: Historic Photos
Looking west along 2nd Street during the construction of Riverfront Stadium. As early in the process as this is I would think it is 1968. If someone can give me a better idea of the time. please post a comment!

Cincinnati: Historic Photos
This is the northwest corner of 5th & Race. The photo was taken shortly before demolition of the buildings began. On the left is the Stouffer's hotel which opened in 1968 so my guess is that this photo was taken in 1967. Dunnhumby USA is currently building their U.S. headquarters on this site. Looking north on Race Street is the Terrace Hilton.

Cincinnati: Random Photos
As a child my family lived in Bond Hill. It was about as middle class as you could probably find. The houses in the neighborhood had been built between the late 1800's and the 1960's. I was always fond of these Tudor style homes that were all over the neighborhood.

Ghost Signs - Brick Walls Signs
This wall certainly was popular over the years. Abromson Quality Coal, Mail Pouch Tobacco, Colonial Bread, and Coca Cola all decided that this was a nice place to advertise. Coke is being sold in a six pack of 12 ounce bottles. Those 12's are KING size! the colors on the Colonial Bread ad really look nice to me. I photographed this sign almost 25 years ago. The next time I drove through Portland. Imdiana the wall had been painted. The visit after that and the building was gone.

Great looking posed photo takenat The Chalet. Besides the 3 pumps dispensing Tydol products there are oil bottles to be seen, a Bell Telephone porcelain sign, a travel trailer, and even the family dog in this wonderful image.

The Decline of Shopping Malls
My guess is that shopping malls are closing because the mall walkers (those older folks with lots of disposable income) have moved on to other places, too much turboing by others got really annoying.
