  1. Those are really great letters to the editor, and I especially like the article written by Milton Dohoney. His article is very concise and to the point. His arguement is well supported and I would forward it to anyone who is sceptical about the project (Cranley). He makes it clear that the priority is to connect Downtown to Uptown, but it must be done in piecemeal fashion for funding reasons. Getting the federal match for the Uptown connection funding seems like the best way to go. I especially like the idea of already planning for it while the first Phase is under way. Beautiful! I'm so excited about this project. Rally!
  2. Ugh, It's so painful to read the comments on Cincinnati.com's streetcar blogs. People seem so blissfully ignorant and completely content with the status quo. And the suggestions that the streetcar money be used for other purposes such as more cops, healthcare, etc. are ludicrous, as the funding proposed for the streetcar couldn't be used in those avenues regardless. Coming back to this message board after reading those comments is like a breath of fresh air. Thanks guys!
  3. It appears from Osborne's article above that Cranley supports some type of Streetcar system in Cincy, he just disagrees as to the location. He prefers the uptown loop to be built first. I would hope that he wouldn't go so far as to attempt to block the downtown loop. If that would happen, I doubt he could muster enough support to put any other route up for a vote. I live in Pleasant Ridge and work in OTR, and I LOVE the idea of bringing streetcars back to the city. Hopefully one day, they will reach all the way out to the Ridge, but I'm content with any other route that gets the process started. I will definitely be in City Council's chambers on Feb. 25 to voice my support.
