  1. ...as promised (in no particular order)...
  2. *points and giggles at those who got in trouble* hehe! On a side note, brick-laying for the Rockwell St. (I think??) entrance/HVAC room/something has proceded...pic forthcoming (if it's not raining cats n' dogs on my way by).
  3. I personally had mixed feelings about the E. 12th street layout... On one hand, I agree with MayDay (again) that they were unique in that they were shade-creating, larger trees... ...on the other hand, I also got the "communist"-feel from that street (nevermind that it was WELL overdue for a re-surfacing). But, overall, progress is good...I just hate seeing green space being eliminated (whatever the plans for the future are and when they'll take affect).
  4. I agree - MayDay, those are some SWEET pics!! ...I see that yesterday, June 24th marked this projects "Anti-Arbor Day" as the northernmost section of trees that lined this divided street (E. 12th) were mowed down (mine not nearly as crisp as others).
  5. This is great news for A-K-Ron, but I also question the story's validity/chances of it actually happening... As a former Buchtelite writer and Univ. of Akron Alum, I know that this student-run paper has the best intentions, but why didn't the Akron Beacon Journal have anything about this first? (...or did that newspaper close with no one knowing?) Either way, it's great to see something positive about Akron and it's downtown/canalfront developing. Canal Park is a JEWEL and that canal would make for a great attraction with the right planning...
  6. ...you're right Doc - this building, which appears to have no more demo-work to be done, looks HIDEOUS in it's awkward, mid-stage appearance now. :? Thanks for the pics
  7. TOTALLY AGREED jonmoxon... Sun-drenched = beautiful! ...I'd be all for a stinkin' Chipotle down this way!
  8. Thanks to you all for the updates on this project...admittedly, this lovely "warm" Cleveland Spring has kept my wanderings over to this site to a minimum (that and the erratic demolition habits of the workers - can't they just wait 'til noon everyday to allow we curious folks the chance to see the destruction!?) LOL! :)
  9. Massiveness...curious, but fun word of choice! :)
  10. UGH. They've almost made ZERO aesthetic improvement to that structure by way of that image...I mean, except for the fact that it'll be newer. :| ...it literally, though, looks like they could've renovated the existing structure. *shaking head* ...whatever, "progress is progress" huh?
  11. Thanks Dr.... ...it's kinda like NOT getting exactly what you wanted for Xmas/B-Day with the "green" features not being spec'ed in: it's cool you got something, but it would've been nicer to have got what you wanted. :|
  12. WOW...it could be the brilliant sunshine, the gem of a camera MayDay has or other things, but MAN does this shot look great!! Nice pic MayDay! :)
  13. Thanks for the info McCleveland...those images DO help shed a little light on what seemed peculiar at first glance. ...as MyTwoSense recently posted, I am kinda disappointed about how "light" the whole thing is, so perhaps the gray/slate out-set or glass would help give it more depth/color. *shrug*
  14. Actually, during Paul In Cleveland and my trip around the building today, we noticed that the E.12/13th side of the building had and interesting non-bricked area that, by our best guess, is going to be a large area of windows...no? It was hard to tell from the on-site renderings...but, if you look closely at P.I.C.'s photo #1 above, you can see what I mean...just thought it was interesting.
