  1. This thread is ridiculously off-topic. It's filed under "Ohio Business and Economy" not "Education." So save the debates to a different thread.

It looks like a little German village filled with industrious German craftsmen. Pleasantville-ish
  4. Not too sound too logical or misdirect the thread, but is the Banks "up" from anywhere? No matter where one is in Cincinnati wouldn't they say "I'm going down to the river" or "down to the Banks"?
  5. Powell BZA upholds Target decision Wednesday, June 25, 2008 By KELLEY YOUMAN TRUXALL ThisWeek Staff Writer In a unanimous 2-0 vote, the Powell Board of Zoning Appeals on Tuesday upheld the Target zoning certificate, denying appeals by nearby residents and the Liberty Township trustees. During a 25-minute hearing, BZA members Ed Cooper and Joe Jester said the controversial big-box retailer meets the guidelines for a 133,000-square-foot Golf Village store. John W. Crowder, president of the Villas at Woodcutter condominium association, said after the hearing that residents will appeal. The condominium community is the closest residential property to the 17-acre Target site. MORE: http://www.thisweeknews.com/live/content/olentangy/stories/2008/06/25/0626potarget_ln.html

  10. So how does Ohio compete as a Union-heavy state? Can it? Does Ohio rely on foreign (non-unionized) companies like Toyota? "One reason that General Motors has been losing market share for years -- going from selling about half the cars in the country to selling about one quarter today -- is that its union contracts put them at a disadvantage compared to its Japanese competitors. Even though Toyota has factories in the United States, the American employees in those factories vote to keep their jobs by staying non-union." http://www.capmag.com/article.asp?ID=4590
