Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Yes I am aware of this...I should probably add it to my Facebook profile. I agree, Urban Planners tend to lean towards the left. We HAVE to be, especially if the job is in the public sector. Urban Planners have to worry about the Quality of Life for EVERYONE. Yes, it does lean towards socialism (liberalism), but that is part of the profession. To pass the AICP Code of Ethics test, you have to be a bit more liberal on your thoughts. Good Great planners have to think OUTSIDE the box, which is hard for the conservative mind frame to do so. Liberal Fascist, sure thats part of the job.

Cincinnati: University of Cincinnati News & Info
I don't know where UC would put a new building for the College of Arts & Sciences. They could get rid of McMicken Circle and build something between McMicken Hall and Clifton Avenue maybe? UC won't build between McMicken and Clifton Ave, it is one of their "Main" Entrances into the school. Perhaps Arts & Sciences can use the old Wilson Memorial Hall. I believe that it is not being used at the moment, but I think I heard somewhere that DAAP is interested in using the building. I don't think there can be much done to centralize A&S. ^Rando, Hughes is a heavily used school for CPS. Where would all those kids go? Hughes would be a great addition to UC because of it's size and being only across the street from the Main Campus.

Covington, KY: Jacob Price Redevelopment
It is ashame this is happening to these people. I had the chance to work on a studio project a few years ago in Jacob Price. Very, very nice people. Rando, I think you were apart of that too? These buildings did need to go, the old army barracks style was not very sufficient for modern day living. Let's just hope they will be able to find a better place to live and be allowed to still have the subsidized rent available to them.

Forest Park: Forest Fair Mall / Cincinnati Mills Redevelopment
I am kind of stepping in this thread, but this mall is too close to both Northgate and Tri-County malls, plus the massive amount of retail that surrounds Forest Fair/Cincinnati Mills. Within a 5 mile radius, there is enough retail to meet the needs of the residents. Plus, the mall itself is HUGE! It is a big freakin' mall. Double maybe triple the size of Northgate. Cincinnati Financial might as well purchase the land so that they can build 6 more "towers" to add to their building. Only making traffic that much better during rush hour.

Urban Art
^I like how they have the rules. Wonder how they are enforced? Something like this could really help boom an Cultural or Arts type of district. It also helps break apart the city "colors" --brown, stone, brick, glass etc.

What are the general attitudes towards "Urban Art"/"Guerrilla Art", such as Banksy or Shepard Fairley? You might have seen the Andre Giant Has a Posse posters and stickers posted all over different cities and on TV/Movies.
