Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Ziegler Park Renovation
Construction docs are often just suggestions, I wouldn't get too hung up on anything just yet. I've seen contractors torch cut a beam in half and re-weld it later because they wanted to install it before the footer had been dug.

Cincinnati: Evolution and Changing Perceptions of Urban Neighborhoods
Noticed this past week that 3 of the places on Mercer are pending.

Or you can always head to the Menards in Evendale to experience the inclined ramp. It is pretty cool, yet somewhat slow.

Cincinnati: Avondale: Development and News
I'm not claiming they are taking public transit. If anything they should do more to promote and increase it among there workers. I don' think I know a single employee who does and I know a significant amount of them who live in the basin.

Umm do you not realize there are a crazy amount of doctors, pharmacists, researchers, psychologists and even nurses who live in the downtown basin?

Cincinnati: Restaurant News & Info
joetraveler replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentWhich was pretty much the plan with Joe's. Sadly it took so long to get a meal there they pretty much lost any lunch crowd they could have had.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
joetraveler replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionI honestly think it will be the opposite. Most newer residents I know are more pro-development than those that have been here 10, 20 or 30+ years. I mean you already have the most NIMBY community council.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
joetraveler replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionI guess what I'm trying to say is that the keep our courts things is pretty new and I fell like I'd heard about this project a year or two before the courts issue was raised. I remember it more being a garden/green space issue.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
joetraveler replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionDoes anyone know for certain that they really had any impact on this? It seems like I've heard a lot of talk about this project or other version of it but have never seen much in the way of renderings or site plans that I can recall. And isn't this all in Mt Auburn?

Has Cinfed moved? Was just there last week.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
I think the concern is more about sloppiness and lack of following procedures. Kind of a big deal in a system that you want to run smoothly.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Tennis court activity has definitely picked up a lot in the past few years. 10 years ago I would agree that they were not used much but they are for sure seeing a lot of usage now, especially at night as they are one of the few lighted courts.

Cincinnati: Festivals, Music Concerts, & Events
joetraveler replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentTotally agreed! It's a bit of Columbus syndrome and "when I discovered it was when it was at its best". with each version it has filled the role that it has needed to fill. I mean I'm not certain what year this would have been, 06 or 07, but nearly every venue was in a closed bar, storefront, etc. I'd say the midpoint of the last few years is pretty unrecognizable from that!

Cincinnati: Festivals, Music Concerts, & Events
joetraveler replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentSunday was the only night I was interested in and seemed to be a pretty solid crowd. When running out to get a drink before band of horses lots of folks coming in with purchased tickets still. While I've enjoyed many midpoints in the past can we please stop romanticizing how great it was back in the day. I remember working the door at kaldis and having to turn people away who were just trying to get coffee or a curried chicken burrito and how pissed they would be that they couldn't hang in there neighborhood spot. Basically people have been complaining about it in every iteration of the many that have existed of mpmf.

Cincinnati: State of Downtown
I've always assumed that place is a front for something.
-
Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Music Hall
I'm having a hard time envisioning it but it sounds to me like they are making it an enclosed door/stairway to the second floor, but it won't be connected in a architectural or ownership sense to the skywalk. But who knows maybe I'm reading it wrong.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Dennison Hotel Demolition
Glad to hear it, what year was the ironworks lofts proposed as I don't any recollection of that one.
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: Dennison Hotel Demolition
Just curious as the floor height was cited as in issue making the donatos building not lending itself for rehab. I'd have to assume that something built as a SRO hotel would have a pretty short height as well but I'd be happy to be told otherwise.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Dennison Hotel Demolition
How would people feel if something like we are seeing proposed where donatos is be proposed at this site?

Cincinnati: Evolution and Changing Perceptions of Urban Neighborhoods
I think this is all a little reaching. Spring Grove has numerous pdf maps for walking/running/driving. While cincinnati most certainly has an issued with being close minded I don't think a reasonable person can think that there is mindset of the staff of spring grove to keep it a locals only attraction. I mean as a local I use the maps all the time to not get lost there. http://www.springgrove.org/maps.aspx?mID=36
