  1. Curious as to if anything is happening with the former gregory center site. I remember condo pre-sales and renderings pre-finanacial crisis. Seems like if they were ready back then they should be ready to go now as well.
  2. Add in bellevue, norwood, western hills to the list.
  3. Going to 3 lanes will not make the shell station magically disappear. While I agree that this is a necessary step to re-joining the neighborhood it not a magic wand either.
  4. It may not be there anymore but there was a house on a paper st off of River Rd with stair only access. http://binged.it/1LYRcyB
  5. Except it's not in OtR regardless of what guidelines you want to apply to yourself. I guess most people think of hughes st as OtR, which its not or the OTRCH keep our courts thing, which are not in OtR. There is alot of nuance so I often just say basin and it really doesn't matter as most of the people I went to high school with think i live in clifton.
  6. never mind that the courts are in mt auburn
  7. Glad to see sycamore hill hopefully adding some buildings in the future. Will be curious to see what the talbert house is proposing as well.
  8. I don't think this phenomena is unique to OTR. If you're involved in any neighborhood group, PTA, scouts, charity organization etc you'll soon quickly realize that many people are delusional and somewhat insane.
  9. That's fair, I've heard lots of talk about them but never anything from them one way or the other. Here's hoping a garage at cutter would lessen the demand on the lots south of SCPA and we could see some movement on those sites.
  10. While everyone is talking about possible peaslee redevelopment, etc does anyone know there intent? I'd have to assume they plan on staying and being as uncooperative as possible but I'd be happy if someone has heard differently.
  11. Was there at one point mention of underground parking under ziegler? I could be making this up but I feel like it read/heard that somewhere. It would make more sense then cutter as they're already building a parking deck at the scpa.

In the same sense there is no light rail plan on the table and at best there "could" be one in 10 years with a 30 year build out schedule. Seems silly to do nothing while a great asset can be developed now. If a successful light rail system is ever planned and developed the political capital and will neceessary to get it off the ground would make something like sorting out the wasson way issue fairly minor.
  13. Mr. Pitiful's is by far the longest-running bar on Main at this point. Jefferson Hall was where The Drinkery is now and something was in MOTR's space but I can't remember what. Before MOTR it was Coopers which closed late 05 or early 06. Before that I believe it was called moose on main or something like that.
  14. Those are the existing courts, perhaps bike polo will pick back up there again.
  15. I'll be the odd man out and say the 2 or 3 times I was there I had a pretty good time. The best thing it had going for it was that it was very quiet, which is something most bars in that area can't say for themselves. They were pretty hands off as a staff and let us alone to hang out and which is much easier to do there than nada or 21c
  16. I'd imagine if what they are buying is not compatible, that a retrofit reader could be swapped in. I'd be curious how many current readers actually have both capabilities (if any).
  17. Stainless alloys are usually non magnetic. There are all kinds of alloying compounds that can be used to make them magnetic if desired
  18. Good question. I actually take cross county on my way to work and head over to plainfield instead of messing with pfieffer.
  19. As someone who commutes home to the basin and gets on S-71 at Pfeiffer I haven't noticed the backups you mention. The two things i've noticed is with the time change you can get some bad sun in your eyes around ridge that tends to back up traffic to red bank or you gave the people who attempt to observe the 45 mph speed limit at the lane shifts before Taft which can get interesting.
  20. Except those of us redeveloping property in the core that use shulhoff pretty regularly. While I get it could use some updating to its facade I see no reason to disparage a local business that helps the many small developers and rehabbers.
  21. Glad to see that it's getting better. Lived in Lyden in the early 00's and it seemed like a few houses where gone and more were looking worse for wear when driving thru a few years later. Just have to stay safe from the bears now.
  22. So it may have been answered but how will streetcar travel be handled with the fifth st festivals? (Taste, octoberfest, etc) will this finally be what's pushes them to the river? I've never understood the charm of hanging out on fifth st breathing in some stale summer air
  23. Yes, let's neglect the fact that craft brewers grew 20% last year and recorded revenues of $14 billion while large market brewery's lose market share. Clearly these craft brewers don't know what they're doing.

A condo in a dense area with few single family houses is a much different product than a condo building in a sea of affordable single family houses. It's hard to sell a condo in cheviot orvwestwood when you could buy a house within spitting distance for an equal price. As with all real estate it comes to location location location.

Sounds similar to other experiences friends have had in lots of other cities.
