Cincinnati: Downtown: City Club Apartments / 309 Vine Redevelopment
I feel like I remember reading it was built to add height if needed. While it could be done and I'd love to see it, it would be insanely expense to do.

Cincinnati: Mayor John Cranley
He's only looking for an organization to underwrite. No checks needed anytime soon. There aren't many groups that would do such a thing but an organization like haile could feel pretty confident in how to make it work.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Perhaps he's going to spin it as with this funding I have found I'm preserveing x amount of public safety jobs for 30 years. If this is the case, while I personally don't trust him, it does make a decent out for him and doesn't leave him wrecked politically for life. I'm just not sure he's that smart.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Seems to be quite the game changer. Looking to hear more details!

Cincinnati: Mayor John Cranley
So assuming he succeeds in canceling the streetcar where does he go from there? He's financially putting himself and the city into a situation where he won't really be able to do any of the things he wants to. Is he this delusional or is there some grand master plan that he has in his mind? Any conspiracy theories out there? Using the financial woes post cancellations to get favorable union and pension deals? I'm really just throwing things out there and likely am just trying to make sense of an illogical person.

Cincinnati/NKY International Airport
Sadly I've not gotten to fly ultimate air shuttle yet but when I did have to cancel a ticket it was a full refund, no questions asked, no fees, etc . The people I work with love it from lunken as parking is free and you can be in the air 15 or 20 minutes from exiting your car. And cheaper than equivalent commercial flights to boot, at least to Charlotte.

Cincinnati: Mayor John Cranley
To bring it all full circle will an emergency clause be added to any cancelation votes? Referendums and TRO time as more and more construction is underway. Also as Dahoney will still be there for a minute or two what's a realistic time line that they could start shutting things down?

Cincinnati City Council
This is by no means scientific but it seems to me that not seeing smitherman in the endorsement groupings where I'd expect to see his name. Too busy on 700 or has he alienated that many people?

Cincinnati: OTR: North Main Street Discussion
Oh nick spencer, I must say dance parties at alchemize kind of started my love affair with otr.

Cincinnati: Evolution and Changing Perceptions of Urban Neighborhoods
So I understand fully the concept of redlining but did it really effect otr? Perhaps in the sense that it didn't allow folks to move out but the built environment of otr doesn't really lend itself to single family homeownership.

Cincinnati: Evolution and Changing Perceptions of Urban Neighborhoods
So they are sensitive to the neighborhood and the event happens in adult park, indian hill, etc etc. Can we then complain about folks not utilizing the urban core?

Cincinnati: Evolution and Changing Perceptions of Urban Neighborhoods
I disagree that it is their responsibility to know the potential impact of choosing that location. It is a beautiful park in a beautiful neighborhood. It is available to rent. They rented it. It was a fancy picnic that required some kind of advanced registration and fees. I get why the optics look bad to some people, but it really wasn't that bad. Exactly! And has any real blow back occurred? Not sure complaining online counts as blow back and I don't know anyone who attended but it seemed folks had a good time. More good times in the biggest small town in America!

Cincinnati: Evolution and Changing Perceptions of Urban Neighborhoods
Sometimes people put way to much into a decision that was likely made without a ton of consternation. Not everything out there is vetted, focus grouped, charetted etc etc. How does one single out an event in a neighborhood yet not apply the same critique to capital investments going on in said neighborhood?

Cincinnati: Evolution and Changing Perceptions of Urban Neighborhoods
I guess I don't understand how it can be a poor venue choice for DeB, but it's not a poor venue choice for the city flea, bluegrass night, yoga night etc etc. can't have your cake and eat it too
-
Cincinnati: Evolution and Changing Perceptions of Urban Neighborhoods
And moving past all these things is a bad thing why? I have no real interest in attending an event like DeB but I'm happy it exists to show people parts of the city they might otherwise not encounter.

Cincinnati: Lost Chains of OTR
There was a White Castle on main, just north of liberty and another one elsewhere. I believe I saw pics on a thread here a while back.

Cincinnati: Lost Chains of OTR
I'd agree Starbucks seems most likely due to among many things size. Not many chains have a footprint that fits into the size of an OtR storefront.
-
Cincinnati: Lost Chains of OTR
Seems like there's been talk of a coming chain store invasion in OtR with a Subway opening on sycamore as well as some other rumors circulating. What are your favorite chain store memories of OtR of yesterday? I remember hitting up the goldstar by Findlay market as a kid, and I've got to give some love to the former KFC on liberty. There are certainly others I know of but never experienced.

Question about Cincinnati architecture...
Alot of times it's a less finished top floor, it would still be living space but from most places I've seen in an original state they were never finished to the same level as the rest of the house ie less ornate trim, doors, etc. I had a bedroom in one of these rooms and really liked the low ceiling, I think it went down to 3.5 feet at the low end.

Cincinnati: Freestanding Public Restrooms
I find this interesting as I was given a daap co-op for free. So much for the architecture market.

Cincinnati: Pendleton: Former SCPA / Historic Woodward Redevelopment
Getting all these players on board would be a quite a challenge. Throw in 3 community councils, nonprofits, developers, etc and you'll have enough entertaining meetings for a lifetime. It's definetly a unique area due to the significant amount of daytime courthouse parking and future nighttime resident parking. There's definelty been an increase of courthouse workers parking in prospect hill since pendelton went to a resident permit. Time to look at adding a basement garage I guess.
