It's more than about tourism, though. I prefer hearing from one of my Chicago friends who has never been there: "I saw the television shots of Cleveland during the ALCS. That looks like a great city you have there." Rather than my Bama friend yesterday: "Man, Cleveland looks deader than Mobile."

No. My statement is based off of my perception after regularly listening to Barkley comment on the Cavs since he first appeared on TNT*. *I no longer have cable, so my Charles listening days do not include this season.

Barkley hates Cleveland and regularly rags on the Cavs.
  4. "Thornburgh said Corsair intends to stay invested in National City for four to five years. When it cashes out, it plans to do so by selling its shares on the open market, not through a sale of the bank." http://blog.cleveland.com/pdextra/2008/04/corsair_says_it_doesnt_plan_to.html

Are there any known plans for the old Euclid Avenue slot? It is particularly run down.

Now this is efficient transportation. "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axwMxUBL_ws&hl=en"
  7. The location for the new Lucky's surprises me some. It seems like a LOT of overlap of customers from the current location. I wish Tremont had a coffeehouse open later -- like 11 or 12.

There has been a lot of noticeable work in the past week between Playhouse Square and East 9th. Cement is being laid. Sidewalks are being bricked. Most of what's being done is in between intersections. If you haven't been out this way this month, it's worth taking a stroll (maybe check out the new Bricco in the Hannah building). You can see pretty concretely what it's going to look like when this is completed.
  9. Check your junk e-mail? I submitted an e-mail but got no response.
  10. I don't generally post on internet forums. Arguing on the internet -- especially with the less thoughtful commenters on cleveland.com -- doesn't seem to be a good use of my brain power. I was a tad shocked at the seeming hatred of buses and their purpose in our community -- probably naively so. I'm also someone who still gets his news primarily from the printed page, not the internet (which doesn't include comments). That sad, I've enjoyed reading here where there is a lot of thought put into discussing urban issues.
  11. Have you guys seen the transit hate in the comments on this PD article? http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2008/03/rta_cops_can_now_write_parking.html
