Cincinnati: Downtown: Terrace Plaza Hotel
that rendering is sexy, and the "colored parking garage thingy" which is actually another art installation would make that one art focused section of town and pretty impressive for lil ol Cincinnati

Not Even Tornadoes Will Go to Downtown Cincinnati?
tornadoes are more common in wide open places. that's why you see them in the planes and in the exurbs which were originally cornfields

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
When it was pointed out that some tax dollars sought for streetcar come from funds that can’t be used for roads and bridges, Gloyd says, “It all comes from the same pot, and that’s the taxpayer’s.” Sounds like COAST has a firm grasp of taxes...

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
There's ton of potential along Vine from OTR to Uptown. Probably half of the buildings are boarded up and the rest are pretty dingy.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
I hear that a subcontractor was assaulted and robbed at the Galleries at Pendleton soon after construction resumed on the property. Apparently, they're having trouble getting more subs down there to work. Anyone else heard this?

Cincinnati: Downtown - dunnhumbyUSA HQ Building
^ That's absurd. I'm sure there is nowhere in the city that could accommodate the behemoth that is dunnhumby USA . Especially with all of the vacant office space coming on the market due to Queen City Square.

Cincinnati: Corryville: 2600 Vine Redevelopment
Short Vine is such a crazy street. Even if it doesn't have the sort of businesses you'd like, there are lot of perfectly viable businesses in the corridor. Not every business district needs to be filled with young professionals. Some can be a bit seedy (and honestly the crowd Bogart's draws can hardly be considered seedy) with tattoo shops and punk venues. Why tear down viable businesses? What happened on Calhoun when we tried that? Why not implement this project on Calhoun? I don't think this is a bad idea for Short Vine and I think it would be successful. Certainly better than the Kroger redevelopment plan. I just don't think you have to necessarily tear down viable businesses to do it.

Rhodes Blasts Banks Hamilton County Auditor calls The Banks "an expensive, editorial board driven obsession." By 700WLW News Wednesday, May 20, 2009 http://700wlw.com/cc-common/news/sections/newsarticle.html?feed=119585&article=5492369 ( Hamilton County ) - Auditor Dusty Rhodes has come out strongly against The Banks. Rhodes issued a statement today, saying Hamilton County is having a very tough time meeting Ohio-mandated obligations, and to spend money to build The Banks is a "desperate attempt to do whta the market says should not be done."...

BTS gets a good amount of ridership. During high traffic times, I've been turned away because the seats and aisle were full.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Slow news day? Write an article with no new information and a slightly negative tone for the locals to get uppity about. And let the inasnity on the Cincinnati.com boards begin. I love how this is downtown's pet project that ignores the needs of other neighborhoods sometimes and the Streetcar through the killing fields of OTR at others depending on the argument trying to be made. It can't very well be both City plan: A streetcar named desire? By Barry M. Horstman • [email protected] • May 13, 2009 http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20090513/NEWS01/305130075/City+plan++A+streetcar+named+desire? The plan to build a downtown Cincinnati trolley system remains, for now, a streetcar named desire. It's desire that recession-wracked local companies will help fund the project, desire that Washington provides a very big check and desire that a proposed ballot measure doesn’t derail the whole thing. Nearly two years after a consultant’s report gave a green light to the streetcar proposal, city leaders hope to move forward this spring by selecting a firm to build, operate and maintain a roughly 6-mile loop linking the downtown riverfront to the Uptown neighborhoods near the University of Cincinnati.said.

Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens
It took some searching but I found the zoo's master plan which I don't think has been posted here before. and the current map to compare: There's a lot going on in the diagrams but I noticed a few things. [*]The Cheetah Encounter as built is on the opposite side of the park than as planned. [*]No plans are listed for either closed parking lot (Rhino and Whiting). I'm curious about the plans for the Whiting lot, it's behind the recently remolded picnic area, which makes it in an awkward position. The plans show some sort of amphitheater, which seems like wasted space. [*]The Cat Canyon remodel is listed, but I haven't heard anything about the Gorilla Forest or Rhino Expansion (which looks like it will be in the veldt where the Sumatran Rhino currently is, and not in the current Rhino reserve). I guess those are the next projects to come online, with the Savannah maybe coming later? EDIT: Embedded Maps

Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens
Since they're basically closing off that lot already, I hope that means they're going to start work on the Savannah project, lets see some renderings! Not a great design, but should work well and will open up TONS of space in the zoo

Monroe: Cincinnati Premium Outlet
Mills bought the mall and invested in it, Simon bought Mills and then got rid of the property while taking many of the outlet tenants to this new center. So it's hard to give Simon really any credit for the success of Cincy Mills. The new owners suggested they have plans to announce (which is always the case) but have yet to do so.
