Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
i assume you mean me, though i have no idea why you would lump me in with a comment about being impatient. i haven't put anything on this thread that would indicate that i need continual noticeable progress. i know how these things go, in fact, last summer i was working for the company in charge of project management for the garages and updated the timelines when needed. so it goes...

Nice! I'm staying in Morningside Heights right now! Right around the corner from your first pics on 125th and Broadway.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
Is the probable contamination of the site less of an issue due to the parking garages? That turns into a pretty big buffer.

Memo: All old construction photos must be shown in black and white to ensure a nostalgic viewing, no matter the age of said photos

Cincinnati: Same instances different outcomes
I can understand the racial tension on this issue due to the uneven prosecution but it seems like every crime story on the enquirer is filled with racial comments even when they aren't warrented. There was a story about some white people kidnapping someone and a response was: "Dumb a$$ white trash hilbilly. There, finally a racist comment from the other side of the racial aisle, and this is coming from a white guy. I am embarrased to say that this piece of garbage is from my race. Will the other side of the aisle please make the same comment about thier own garbage?" How does this become a race issue? The enquirer comment boards have made me realize what people mean when they say Cincinnati still has a lot of racial divides left. I've long been a cheerleader for the city and will continue to be and I've always said I don't know where I'll end up but I wouldn't mind it being in Cincinnati but this overwhelming focus on race and trying to call out the other side definitely makes the city less attractive to me.

Worthington: Developments and News
First arts center board of trustees is appointed Wednesday, August 6, 2008 By CANDY BROOKS ThisWeek Staff Writer Thirteen community members -- all with impressive backgrounds in the arts, business or communications -- have been named to the inaugural board of trustees for the Peggy R. McConnell Arts Center of Worthington. They will direct the nonprofit that will operate the center, and they will be responsible for arts programming for the Worthington community. The center will be located in the old Packard Annex, located at the corner of West Granville Road and Evening Street. The building is being renovated and a small addition built. Projections call for it to be ready to open in 2009. MORE: http://www.thisweeknews.com/live/content/worthington/stories/2008/08/06/0807woarts_ln.html

Cincinnati Bengals Discussion
For all the bad pr that resigning Henry creates I'd say the news conference was about as intelligent as possible. Henry said the right things about knowing this is his last chance, Lewis said the right things about having given his input (a no) but it being Brown's decision and that they will work to use Henry as best they can (this was honest, prevented Lewis from sounding like he was going back on previous statements, and respectful to the organization) and the players said the right things (Rudi mentoring and TJ saying its comes down to Henry taking care of himself)

New York City - 1
Don't worry guys, I'm hard at work in Brooklyn this summer working to preserve its appeasing character from the onslaught of out of scale development! In case anyone was worried about that... Oh and nice pics!

Ohio State Route 4 trip
^ Zombie problems would only encourage a visit ^^ I think it's interesting to have such a variety of cities along one road, though I'm open to suggestions for an alternate road trip across Ohio. Obviously interstates can get me some place much quicker but that's not the point. I'd like to avoid interstates for this one.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Last I heard the plan was to have funding in place by the end of the year, that's a pretty good chunk of money to round up. So the project isn't delayed or in trouble (at least not publically)

Idiotic construction
Shouldn't that be Suburban Search and Rescue? But seriously, people got hurt and may be trapped, it's in bad taste to put this here now

Ohio State Route 4 trip
A buddy and I are going to take a road trip up Ohio Route 4 sometime soon and I wanted to get everyone's advice on sites to see along the way. We're going to do the whole thing from Cincy to Sandusky. Suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Cincinnati Mountain Bike Trails
http://www.bikereg.com/events/register.asp?eventid=6729 Great, I'm not crazy, something called Cyclo-cross happens there. I don't really understand what all of these categories are, but it involves a race and money being won. Seems pretty official?

Cincinnati Mountain Bike Trails
I recall there being mountain bike races at Harbin Park in Fairfield, so I imagine there's a decent trail up there

Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
One thing I've noticed in New York, is a lot of fitness centers in business centers to cater to people before/after/during work. I don't recall many in downtown Cincy. Coffee shops always. I don't know about a laundromat, but maybe a dry cleaner?

Cincinnati: GE Aerospace
I vote for calling it instead the "15 year 100% tax abatement capital of the state"
