Cincinnati Public Schools: Development and News
I think the Zoo program is run through Hughes now, I hope they keep that if not at Hughes within CPS somewhere. It's just such a cool program. It will be interesting to see the results from this new program

Forest Park: Forest Fair Mall / Cincinnati Mills Redevelopment
With Cincinnati Financial and a lot of successful fast food places I think tearing down at least the Bigg's wing of the mall and creating an office park could be successful I remembering hearing that Steve and Berry's is opening a Hamilton location so I wouldn't be surprised to see them go as the place starts to clear out. My friend worked at Showcase Springdale when they built the Cincy Mills Cinema and said it was to alleviate some of the traffic from the Springdale location which was one of their busiest, but movie theatres aren't doing as good as they once were so who knows if there is still a need. Also I heard somewhere thet Off 5th would probably move up to the new Monroe outlet mall, that's probaby true of the other outlet stores as well. So on second thought, tear it all down. Which is sad, like inkaelin, Bigg's was my usual grocery store as a kid, and it had an awesome toy section.

Origin of your Screen Name?
there's a mewithoutyou song with the line: I'll live without you love, but what good is one glove without the other I thought it was clever, I've used it for various screen names since I was like 15, I didn't really think about how emo or Michael Jacksoney it sounded. I think I actually wanted to use some other line but it was already taken, so since I just wanted to get contributing, I just said the first screen name that popped in my head. I'll probably request a change sometime in the future.

Cincinnati: Clifton Heights: University Park Apts/Calhoun Street Marketplace
From Graeter's website "The gentle folding process prevents air from whipping into our ice cream and accounts for the extremely dense and creamy consistency." Graeter's is some dense stuff, I like B&J too but I don't think it's any denser than Graeters. It does how ever have lots of delicious chunks. I never went to the one on Calhoun because usually I was looking for real food, which I didn't know that they apparently had. Maybe they needed to market themselves better since it was different than any other B&J I've seen and took up more space which obviously cost the more. I am sad we missed free cone day, last year when I was in St. Louis, B&J was across the street from my apartment so I just hopped in line a couple times during the day. yum.

The Mediterranean House had some good food although when I went it seemed like much of it had been sitting for awhile. Lets hope all those new windows encourage more business and as a result, fresher food!

Tax district to spur Fairfield project BY SUE KIESEWETTER | ENQUIRER CONTRIBUTOR FAIRFIELD – The northern half of this city’s Town Center could see new development – including senior citizen housing and office condominiums – if a special taxing district were created. The 150 acres Fairfield City Council is considering for the district are located north of the Pleasant Avenue/Nilles Road intersection and include Fair Plaza, Reigart Square and Sandy Lane, said Greg Kathman, Fairfield’s economic development director. Development there is older than the southern half of the Town Center, which includes the Fairfield Community Arts Center, Village Green Park, Fairfield Lane Public Library, the Justice Center and Municipal Building. Butler County Growth
Jskinner, that article is about Colerain and 275, and this is about a development near 129. They're probably 20 minutes away from each other. Also, there is at least one natural spring in the area, hardly enough for all the naming, but it is why the area is/was called Indian Springs. It's on Tylersville Road, near Bypass 4. Of course it's not even in a natural state anymore, and theres a sign on the spigot that says you're not supposed to consume the water, so perhaps this type of suburban trash does pollute the water. I've never been to the spring, just by it.

Banks Czar Named http://frontier.cincinnati.com/blogs/gov/2008/04/banks-czar-named.asp The Enquirer is pursuing the full story, but here's a fairly comprehensive release from Cincinnati and Hamilton County. He'll make $175,000. Banks Project Executive Named Deatrick Brings Large-Scale Project Expertise to the Banks Project Cincinnati, OH (April 21, 2008) - The City of Cincinnati and Hamilton County today have jointly appointed John F. Deatrick as the public parties’ project executive for the Banks, Cincinnati’s new premiere riverfront development. “John has the solid experience in large-scale public project management and effective team building to successfully bring the Banks development to reality,” said City of Cincinnati City Manager Milton Dohoney, Jr. “There are only a handful of professionals in the country who can navigate the complex arenas of a project like this. John can do it and keep his eye on the finish line. We’re excited to have him on board.”
