  2. A nice summary of what the site was before parking lot and some previous proposals to redevelop What Could Have Been ... By Lisa Bernard-Kuhn • [email protected] • December 17, 2009 From a new ballpark for the Cincinnati Reds to a sprawling pad for suburban-type retailers, countless big ideas have been pitched - and ultimately rejected - for Broadway Commons. http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20091217/EDIT03/912200305
  3. But what do you know? How long have you been studying urban issues? Can someone create a poll question about this? We can't just let residents have whatever they like without a more comprehensive study I'm not saying I know anything about urban planning but I'm sure there are people on UO and 3CDC that do... I'm just adding my two sense into the conversation. Two sense -> Bright lights seem to reduce loitering and sketchiness in general (as compared to other areas of OTR). That can't be a bad thing, right? I'm kidding man. My point is that we debate many of these issues without real regard for what the actual residents think. A bunch of forumers say the lights are too bright but the person living there says they're fine. Who should hold more sway?
  4. I need a more scientific analysis. And then if I do not agree with the results I will require additional studies. Get on that.

  6. Habitat for Humanity to open first Cincinnati ReStore http://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/stories/2009/12/14/daily49.html The article mentions the new Building Values in Northside, but didn't point out that there is a ReStore in Hamilton

  13. I enjoyed the NYC Annex (I went on John Lennon's bday when it was free). There was a really awesome video presentation at the beginning of the exhibit with speakers that really enveloped you in sound. And they gave you headphones that automatically changed songs as you walked through the exhibits. Also while I was there, they had a John Lennon: The NYC years exhibit which was really interesting. There was even a phone that Yoko would call in on from time to time to talk with whoever was there. That said, it definitely wasn't helping Cleveland's cause.
  14. I found out about it too late. Next year I'll be there

    bump!
  16. Yellow or red? I don't think it's fair for 21C to just change important building features like this without going through some sort of review. Next thing we know the hotel will be complete and there will be lime green puffins on there! Completely unnacceptable. I think Cincinnatians need to stand up against this type of treatment by developers! Let's hold a rally! Maybe a tea party?
  17. yall a bunch of dorks
  18. i like the shiny new toy you people just hate change. you're like COAST.
  19. Shiny!
  20. Thanks! Picture heavy posts like this one may not be super common but I'm sure they'll happen from time to time
  21. Back story: My girlfriend and I recently moved to NYC and started a blog to keep our family and friends up to date and maybe even give people ideas for cheap things to do in NYC. I live a couple blocks from Herald Square so I headed down to the parade to take some pics... I ended up behind the police barricades where they take apart the balloons and floats! See more at the link below! Now with witty commentary! http://bigapplesmallwallet.blogspot.com/2009/11/macys-thanksgiving-day-massacre.html
