I'm questioning my own intelligence here, but, can someone explain the rationale behind comparing horse manure to the peaking of oil production? I'm not truly trying to be sarcastic in saying this, but I seriously fail to recognize the relationship in his argument.
  2. Hmmm. That's interesting. I'm all for opposing the expansion of jails. The federally funded jailing system in this country is one of the most lucrative businesses to be in. Spending money on a prison system that fails to truly rehabilitate is retrogressive. But being against public mass transportation too. . . That seems really inconsistent to me.

    ^^Yesss!!!
  4. Hmmm, I see. Too bad they plugged it, it would be easy to escape school from SCPA. . .

Yeah when it comes to rap I don't even try. I don't really know much about it because I can't really stand it. Seems like rap is something that was born from hiphop? Except hiphop feels like an artform. I have to commend the BBoys who solve their problems with years of physically intense dance warring rather than brag about shooting each other or acting barbaric. . . which correct me if I'm wrong, seems to be one of the main messages in rap?
  6. ^Definitely put James Kunstler in there for background commentary too and you would be set.

Hmm I'm just going to politely disagree. I think after the 10th trumpet goes off it's too redundant. I wonder what was going on in the DJ's head who was mixing this for him. . . Luda, you know what would be awesome, if we had the exact same two second sample go off for the entire song! I won't even do anything really, I'll just set the table to loop!

It's such a shame the guy was that angry with the town. Looks like the troops in Iraq could use his help to armor up their vehicles. . .
  10. In the spirit of The Office. . . The current topic - "that's what she said." As for actual information on this topic, I came here to find out because I don't know.

I didn't even know they had a logo. I have a Brooks Bros. tie from my uncle and it doesn't have a logo at all. I wonder if it's a new thing? Maybe they are trying to appeal to the up and coming Pentecostals with something they can relate to like. . . the sacrificial lamb!?
  13. That's excitingly cool, wonder what could still be down there. . . or if the other side of the tunnel still connects? Do you know?

CLEARLY I HAVE BEEN MISSING OUT. This is the thread I SHOULD be on! OK for the people who are into Delerium, my favorite song by them is definitely "After All" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70YENjZJ3ow And if you're into that you will also dig this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOt15JsLloU Röyksopp - What Else Is There? You also might like OceanLab for the smooth, melodic, vocal trance stuff. They are a curse to me. Just cant get rid of the sound, it really feels like the "Sirens of the Sea." KUDOS to posting Tiësto! As for what I've been listening to lately, whoa I'm all over the map. Definitely good Trance and Progressive stuff with Paul van Dyk. Gotta love Ferry Corsten, and Armin van Buuren. Lately been exploring some Markus Schulz too. I can't get Ronski Speed out of my head or anything Cosmic Gate touches. On the other hand I consistently find myself singing Bobby Darin and Frank Sinatra. Johnny Cash is EPIC. Also cleaned house to Tito Puente. Right now switchin' it up to Iio's "Rapture"
  15. THIS is something the NAACP should be fighting for. Not lack of transit options. Public transit should be available to everyone, cross all urbanized municipalities. Anything less doesn't promote equality. Yeah, I'm terribly confused by why they would do this because it seems like it would promote the principals they stand for? Gosh, looks like they need to do their homework on this project. . .

a little late but it's only now that i've been active. . .
  17. Hey I skimmed through this threat and didn't really see what I was looking for. . . So my question is does anyone know of downtown venues for live DJs who play House/ Progressive/ Trance/ Techno? I would really, like to find a place to go for that around here.

I have very mixed feelings about gentrification. On the one hand it is fantastic for people who are trying to preserve the history and story of their neighborhood. On the other I don't think it is fair for anyone to step in and tell someone what their house should look like, as long as it is kept is a decent manner. I don't see anything really wrong with gentrification itself, however, just when it inadvertently kicks people out of their homes or forces a population to relocate. I also don't think that it is effective to say "oh well it happens" because I think we should strive for something better. I think it is a very difficult subject and something that I would to learn more about.
  19. I took this last night with my phone's camera :/ quality is horrible but it was christmas eve and the sky was split in two. . . i saw the left so dark and the right so bright i had to snap this one. sorry about the lack of quality. http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/bk2zzi5jWcgZlLlWWL0vbA?authkey=h1jI1JxdjL8&feat=directlink
  20. The Wolfe Center ever being built = JOKE. What do you know, BGSU epic fails again. Great! Good thing I left that school.

I would ride a bike to work if I had somewhere to ride it, other than sharing the road with a car. Just need to get someone in charge who is open to this idea. Yeah, if there was an entire lane dedicated to biking, I doubt I would drive anywhere, unless it is below zero.

Yeah, nobody wants to just come out and say it. But without a doubt there are people who will urge everyone to switch due to economic incentive which means someone will find a way to make a lot of profit from it, kind of like people profiting from this whole "green" revolution thing going on. (We care about the planet almost as much as making money!) Though we should be switches rails (ha pun) starting years ago, the impact of higher costs will certainly facilitate a fast change of peoples mindsets. I only hope that it will be in time. . .
  23. ^ Yeah, I'll unquestionably take your word for it.
