  1. That would be a terrible loss but look at the bright side, at least the druggies aren't hanging out in front of the store anymore;)
  2. It requires a password. Do we just use our urban ohio account?
  3. BTW they've started constructing more of the tiara today;)
  4. I was coming down Sycamore today and noticed that this building has a great light catcher in the design. Having that round shape wall really helps catch the evening sun. Excellent.
  5. Na I'm the guy on the right sayng "what the hell are you doing?" lol
  6. I remain optimistic and predict a building boom within the next 15 years similar to the one we had in the '80's. QCS already looks great but I dont think it'll hold the crown as the tallest for long.
  7. Neilworms, a small intimate park definitely wouldn't serve the public well because they're planning on a much grander scale. Plus you have the new SCPA right behind it. 1500 kids, small park...no.
  8. Blueline, the multi-million dolar renovation IS part of the beautification process for the park. Walk down there this week in the evening, stand there and tell us it doesn't ned a renovation. That all the drunks and druggies and bums will simply go away if more cops show up. Truth is, Cincinnatians are expecting change across the board with OTR and won;t live or visit it unless every inch is accounted for. A brand new park will bring brand new people and that's what it's setting out to do.
  9. ^Just take her up 75 N at the cut in the hill from KY. Her views will totally change.
  10. ^I second that idea. Some awesome sculptures would be great because despite Cincy being such an artsy town and known for it, we have no collection of standout sculptures really.
  11. This is outstanding. But, for the naysayers, all cities have these morons. These people like to see failure because they've been doused in it their entire lives and can't stand change or other's enjoying success. Good thing our city council is ignoring these people eh? CASINO, WASHINGTON PARK, THE BANKS, QCS, CAPS, "wiplash sound!" lol
  12. There's noise everywhere you go in a downtown.
  13. prok has a point. But it's funny. I already love this building but when finished, it will look identical to the great white shark on the cover of the Jaws novel LOL.
  14. What's the difference between seeing trucks and seeing cars? They're vehicles anyway. I don't think it will ruin anyone's park experience or lives because big trucks happen to pass through. jjakucyk is correct anyway, there's not a lot of traffic there to begin with.
  15. I think they can build the caps and then put the bridge spans back in somehow. They wouldn't need to trash them. They do't necessarily have to go over any gap or anything. It could look cool actually.
  16. ^Agreed. CVG needs rail transit to downtown. But think of it this way, is it really necessary to move the Greyhound station? People who want to go to this casino will be dropped off right behind the place. Most people hate walking anyways! but, IF the streetcar can be connected from the casino to a transit hub with Greyhound, that's a whole different ballgame.
  17. Na Cityblights I know what you're saying. I'm talking about the buildings on the south part of the street. The ugly warehouse buildings with ugly trees and vines behind them.
  18. No, the arking garage won't.
  19. Yep and they just awarded the contract to a cement company for the western portion of the parking garage. It'll be starting June 1st. It's starting faster than I thought.
  20. ^ True that. Plus those entrances don't look cheesy either. They have a strong welcoming presence. But the "big ugly box" will most likely change in design too..well...hopefully;)
  21. I'm happy they'll be tearin out those crap buildings along Reading.
  22. It'll be open 24/7 They can't compete with Indiana if they don't do that. Secondly, this is to help make downtown a 24/7 destination. Having it close at all would be counter-productive. The casino district will be a major draw all hours of the day and night.
  23. ^You know the funny thing is the superstition surrounding the 13th floor is kinda whack. Think about it...you build a skyscraper and eventually you will approach the "13th level" of the building anyway. By naming it the 14th or something does nothing. So if ghosts want to still inhabit the 13th floor, they just have to float up 13 levels anyway.
  24. There are people that love to see things fail and they do ANYTHING to keep things from happening because they don't want to be proven wrong about it actually being finished. So damn lame.
  25. It would be cool if OTR had that outdoor cafe presence. I loved walking up and down Newbury Street in Boston because of that. Really cool atmosphere.
