Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
I love the fact of a new taller building. But Lester, you're definitely right. Old fogies around here absolutely can't stand change. It freaks them out. The thought of new skyscrapers and foot traffic causes them to hermit themselves. But, as we all know, our downtown is changing and QCS will only hold the record as tallest for so long until something else comes along an tops it. We might not have to wait 60 or so years but hey, progressivness!

Cincinnati: Downtown: Smale Riverfront Park
You have to understand that the people who put this video together probably aren't "hip" with todays cool music lol. But, the progress is amazing. It's good to see them pinpoint where things are going. I think that Lager house and bike center are going to be major draws.

Some cities need innovative architecture. Cincinnati doesn't. Our city is cool the way it is;)

You're forgetting that QCS sits lower than Carew. You have to walk down a slight hill to get from 4th to 3rd.

^That's excellent. This tower is starting to show no matter where you are. They don't have many more levels for the elevator shaft either.

You're right Sherman. It's going to get quite crowded down there that's for sure.

There's plenty of parking downtown. People just need to learn to walk an extra couple blocks.

I will enter this casino with $100. If I run out without winning a dime, I will mentally punch myself in the balls and tell myself to leave lol.

You never know sandpit. This casino is bound to spark a lot of development. There's plenty of room for it.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
I still think the Freedom Center should be constructed into a specialty theater. Maybe like a large version of The Esquire. It's seems like a complete waste of cool architecture to house such a sad world.

I think we should all give a toast to BC becoming a complete madhouse;) let the fun begin!

Well Blueline, I have a feeling RTC won't be big enough if and when we get the rail. Union Terminal is ideal and I think people see the significance of using that. I have a feeling that when we do get rail, it will completely bypass the riverfront with the exception of 1 stop for the train. The potential in developing the entire area surrounding UT is too much to overlook.

Wow it's just nice to sit back and actually know whats going in this space now. No more speculation and wishful thinking. This fills in such a huge gap downtown.

^Well what would be sick is if a transit center was next door to the casino. But that won't happen.

Ha like the saying in football goes "when turnovers happen, they happen in bunches" and Cincy just recovered about 5 of them! I think we're finally winning the game now.

One more interesting tidbit is that the president of Penn Gaming, David Wilmott, predicted all four casinos in Ohio would be built within 2 years. What do you all think?

Edale, existing businesses will definitely be affected but in a GOOD way. That entire area is pretty much dormant with the exception of the Greyhound station(which actually should see a significant boom in ridership) Oakie you're right, OTR will never be the same and hopefully this will spark development in those disgusting looking lots across the street from Vinyl. Yuk. So much could happen right there. This is a great time everyone! stuff is truly shanging around here for the better.

Well everyone. Issue 3 passed which means Ohio is getting it's well-deserved casinos. So, in light of this fantastic progression, I think this particular thread will be seeing MUCH more life in the coming year. You'll have to pardon my sudden rush of excitement but I think you all can back me up;)

Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
I think developers, architects whatever, need to grow some balls and put the thirteenth floor into their buildings. It's a silly superstition. But on a positive note, QCS is starting to fill in the gaps when you see downtown from different angles. It looks so different!

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
A ton of investment IS being spent in OTR. Plus, you can't really judge the buildings until you can stand in front of the finished piece. Besides, in The Banks case, substance is more important than looks. As long as we get kickass tenants, then we're golden.

Cincinnati: Clifton Heights: U Square @ the Loop
Drivers here hate pedestrians so the more traffic signals the better. Anything to slow down the drivers that aim for the people walking. When Commons is built, that whole area will be a madhouse of people just you watch.
