Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
They attach sections of the crane to the side of the building correct?

Cincinnati: Lower Price Hill: Queensgate Terminals
Lower Price Hill residents will just have to suck it up and realize this kind of stuff is what Cincy is made of. Its what put this city on the map. It's not like they will build some giant disgusting building. I'm pretty sure they will try to make it as resident-friendly as they can. Plus, it would be damn cool to see this facility built anyway. Its a neat idea.

When designing towers like this one, does the office space needed by a company dictate how many floors it will be? Multiple companies in a tower is common but I was wondering if a city goes by a height that they feel comfortable with having. If QCS was 55 stories, do you think leasing it would be that much more difficult?

What would be cool is if they put a webcam on top of the Roebling bridge so we could watch both;)

Covington, KY: Jillian's Redevelopment
Some people just don't give a crap about historical significance. Its unfortunate because I used to go to Jillians and it's an awesome building.

I think they raised the elevator shaft too.

Maybe the guy is senile and is doing the wrong building lol.

Cincinnati Public Schools: Development and News
Jmeck I agree. Kunzel gave a lot to the school but he was crazy. Besides, making the name longer just doesn't sound right. They should put a statue of him or a plaque somewhere.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
Sorry but I need to get a clear picture. I remember people saying the number of stories changed as the design changed. What's the final number? 48 floors?, 41? 37? 980? lol.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
^Well look at it this way, maybe it'll happen again to some degree. QCS is a good example of being able to build in the time of economic crisis. It's very cheap for companies to have their headquarters in Cincy anyway. I'm not saying we'll start seeing more towers like QCS, but maybe a midrise boom or something. More people are moving into cities now than before. QCS could be a catalyst because it looks good to young professionals.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
Yea it's very strange driving down sycamore and seeing this building now. It's cool how just one building can change everything. I just wish downtown would get highrises faster than 1 every 18 years lol. I know in the 80's, we were booming.

TheHemroid replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionI noticed the buildings next to trinity are being renovated. Are these a part of the flats or more new ones?

It's amazing how fast they assemble those steel beams.

You're right Hash. Truth is mockups aren't really capturing the true height either but theyre close. Should look really good once finished.

Cincinnati: Downtown: 21c Hotel (Metropole Building Redevlopment)
Hey I'll bring this thread back on track...ready? I HOPE THIS PLACE KICKS ASS! :) there.

Cincinnati: Downtown: 21c Hotel (Metropole Building Redevlopment)
Atlas youre right because that absolutely gigantic parking lot across the street won't see development until we're all 80 yrs old lol. But this hotel idea is great. I met some friends on Walnut Street last weekend and when I stepped outside at 130 am, I had to do a double take because of all the people I saw. That whole area is growing bigtime.

Cincinnati: Pendleton: Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati
I also think people would have a fear of building close to the jail. I personally think more NEEDS to be built by the jail so the place isn't singled out as an eye sore.

Cincinnati: Pendleton: Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati
I always wished they would build a really cool triangular shaped skyscraper or building on the corner of eggleston and broadway. It just seems like the strangest place for a parking lot. Maybe if the casino does happen, they'll want to build something there.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
Yea because once the riverfront is somewhat built, it'll make the whole place look fuller.
-
Cincinnati: Pendleton: Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati
That's a painting because I don't know who would build railroads that abruptly stop in front of a large street lol.
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
Great pics. Our riverfront sure is changing.

Cincinnati: Pendleton: Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati
I agree Lester. A casino on the riverfront would be far more attractive than placing it in the back of downtown. BC would've been perfect for the IKEA in my opinion. It needs something! but hey, a casino is much better than an ocean of blacktop, weeds, and light poles. Argosy can kiss its business goodbye if this ever happens.

I never thought I'd see this thread come alive again. Bring the casino!

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
TheHemroid replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionI would like to see development by the old SCPA. We have Vinyl and we have that boarded up club called Vybz. We have two gigantic surface parking lots across the street too. There's a lot of potential there.
