Cincinnati: Clifton Heights: U Square @ the Loop
Yea I walked by the campus last night. Hey at least they are doing something to that corner because it's always been this little ugly wooded area forever.

I can't wait until something is built there. I'm sick of looking at that corner!

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
Or "cool spot" lol.

Phattynati is one of those people that like to see things fail. It's a psychological problem because they themselves fail at almost everything, therefor they don't like to see success elsewhere. It's sad really. BACK TO REALITY, if someone can't see the progress at "the mudpit" then someone is smoking too much monkey leaf from Brazil.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
Who knows, this might spark another highrise boom like we had in the 80's. I'm interested to see what kind of colored lights, if any, will go in that crest at the top.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
Jmicha I completely agree. That entrance should be around 4 or 5 stories or something. Maybe a big atrium in the front. But we won't know 'till we know! but who's complaining. The building is a good size.

just name it Cincinnati avenue or something.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
Yea the hatred for The Banks on the Enquirer section is hilarious. Those are the types of people that complain about Ohio's education, yet when it comes time to fork the money over to help make it better, they're nowhere to be found lol. They have absolutely NO idea about city life. If you stuck them in the middle of NYC, they wouldn't know what to do. PEOPLE, TAXIS, BUILDINGS AAAAAAAAAAH! lmao.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
Dmerkow your absolutely right. Funny thing is, (if you believe in fate) it's like Cincy wasn't supposed to have The Banks until right now. Out of all the infighting, all the bickering, stalls, bad ideas, it's happening at the best time that it could. I aint complaining.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
This is ironic. Out of all the city arguing, all of the bad vibes we've gotten from the Banks all these years, we couldn't ask for it to be built at a better time lol.

I'm wondering. Since they've started building the pilons between bengals stadium and the freedom center, couldn't they just use that huge parking lot as the base ground floor for the garage? it's pretty much level already right?
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
There was a lot more restraints with that freedom tower too. Money is always the issue but I agree, qcs is flying. There was a rumor that the top would have an observation deck inside the tiara. This true?
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
ANybody know how many piling have been drilled so far?

I'm right with you Edale. The problem people have with Cincy is this prolonged thought of it never gaining population. They live in the nagative. Now, given, our city councel has FINALLY come together. We're on our way now. The other obstacle we have to overcome is this small city laid back type attitude. A lot of old timers and old fashioned people live here and they don't want it to get bigger. They view the Banks, streetcars, tall skyscrapers etc. as this horrible force that will destroy our city. What they fail to realize is our city was growing as fast as NYC and Chicago at one point. Over 40,000 lived in OTR alone. These people would rather look out the window and see tumbleweeds than to see a bustling downtown. Truth is, Cincy is growing.

Nothing is flawed until proven flawed. The proof of a revitalized downtown is when you walk the streets of downtown and become a part of the cause. Anyone who can't see all the foot traffic happening is clearly blind and skeptical of true progress in general. Those are the people that remain ridiculously skeptical until progress hits them in the face. They aren't happy unless it happens overnight.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Smale Riverfront Park
^Maybe a second "front door" lol.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
^Good point. I think it's safe to say our city leaders really are taking the time to get us something truly awesome down there. Good thing is they aren't just slapping some buildings together. Its also good to see steady progress. That site is busy! can't wait to look there and see absolutely NO MUD PIT:)

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
The buildings in real life will look completely different than some architects 3D computer program;)

Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
^Yea it stalled because there's going to be wind force problems because it's so damn high. Anyone got pics of the cement poor for qcs?

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
One thing that I bet would make a ton of money is a bike shop right by the park. Just a bigass cyclery to encourage people to bike more (assuming that whole lunken-to-downtown trial gets built) Also, even though arcades are kind of outdated, we still need something similar. Maybe a big pool hall with an arcade or something.

Jimmy James your right about the height thing. Another thing is cities like Chicago and NYC have always had height competitions. The Empire State Building and Chrysler tower started that trend in NYC. Then it became "hey, we can build taller" so another company came along. The prestige of both cities alone drew a lot of companies wanting to move there so money was never really an issue. Cincinnati doesn't have to worry about height. We're more of a "filler" city lol. We got a crap load of potential to fill our gaps with what "could" be. We're moving on up!

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
TheHemroid replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionLet's just hope the NAACP doesn't do something negative to this development which would make them look like complete morons. What have they done for Cincy other than complain?

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
If the Banks get's Dewey's then I'm going to be very curious as to what will happen to the Dewey's in newport on the levee. That's like a favorite place to eat before and after the movies.
