  1. Definitely. At least the apartments are going in and a lot of them:) Newport and Convington both need some for of mass residential sections. Ovation should help but thats indefinite. The Banks will be absolutely huge for the cincy area...nky included.
  2. I roughly remember them saying a mixture of condos and apartments were in the plan with the "possibility" of a hotel. But hey if its being completely replaced by a hotel because noone is buying condos then so be it. I'm just glad they'll have an official website up.
  3. the streetcar better go there. But hey, the taco bell and stuff is way better than what was there before. Talk about shanty shops.
  4. Yea, Mecklenborg your right. Afterall, our riverfront truly is the most valuable undeveloped land in the midwest or even the country. Hundreds of cities would kill for that much land at their doorstep. I know it's taken eons for Cincy to build it, but maybe its perfect timing after all. Maybe we weren't meant to have the Banks any sooner than what's happening now. Funny thing is, after all this housing crisis, people are taking advantage of living in the city and what better time to build that then now.
  5. ^True. The cool thing is the Blue Wisp is supposedly still kicking after all these years and bringing in top blues talent. I wouldn't doubt that this little area will take off and the Wisp will start booking more and more musicians. I mean c'mon it's within walking distance to the hotel which is awesome.
  6. Since they were talking about bringing cincy beer back on the map. I think this building would make a very cool brewery.
  7. I honestly saw a pigeon fly into it last month. Funny stuff.
  8. It was. My friend and I were driving on 471 and literally saw a pipe flying through the air! It was about the size of a baseball bat and missed his car by about 5 feet. OTR should be ok. Maybe this will spark people to clean even more crap up after this exposes them to abandoned places.
  9. I bet they just drilled into a gigantic cement slab from the old stadium that the bulldozers missed. Yikes! that could suck.
  10. It's moving along. But it would be awesome to have about 3 cranes working at once. 12 poles drilled for each. Weeeeee!
  11. This is great news. That whole area has tons of potential to be something totally cool and unique. One area I want to see built up more than anything is the corner adjacent to Mad Frog. Thank God that old parking garage is gone but Im sick of looking at the corner lol. Put a Tower Records there or something.
  12. Atlas, is that Mr. Oizo in your avatar pic? if so that's freakin hilarious. I forgot to mention that I emailed someone about the new SCPA, and they said because of cost, they aren't building that gigantic spotlight thats in the renderings. Kinda disappointing but oh well!
  13. Cedar Point taking over is the best thing that could have ever happened to Kings Island. Paramount was awful and I think it shows. Let's make King's Island truly king.
  14. I think Cincy and NKy will continue to get more and more high rises for years to come. The people living in homes with obstructed views will just have to suck it up or move away because it's not changing. Times are changing and that means everyone has to adapt. Architects won't design holes in the buildings so some 80 year old can see her favorite tree from across the river.
  15. Or get rid of Mike Brown so the Bengals can actually win;)
  16. I drove by yesterday evening. The garage is completely gone and they got several trucks hauling debris now.
  17. Phatty I agree all the way. Old fashioned people in downtown or near it hate the fact we're becomming "progressive" and are getting high rises. The fact of Cincy turning into a big metropolis frightens these people beyond belief. How in the hell will a 15-20 story tower ruin the entire view of the river? JUST LOOK TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT OF IT. omg.
  18. haha. Hey at least the Reds have a proud history;)
  19. Nobody will ever know how it will turn out until people start using it...and about SF. Being in a liberal city will do that to people;) that's not a slap towards liberals either. Maybe I've already pushed buttons...I better run now.
  20. I understand ESPN Zone is rare. Only 9 in the country right? not only would that be insanely cool for Cincy to get it, I also don't see how they could ever pass up building it here. Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't it be the only one in existance built between two stadiums? that would most likely create a media hot spot in itsself. It'll be a major anchor for other places, but my prediction is it would anchor more sports oriented places. Makes since right? it's going to be awesome either way.
  21. Of course I meant it as a joke. Its just UC is becoming pretty impressive because when you drive down MLK it literally looks like a mini city or something.
  22. Moonloop...yes, the park will be built at the same time. But the pole drilling is correct. It takes forever and I would hate to work around there because that stuff gets annoying and loud..aaalllllll day long.
  23. OTR legally isn't "downtown" but in my opinion, and this goes with being in any city...as soon as you can walk around and see skyscrapers close to you...your downtown lol.
  24. Our medical campus is bigger than downtown Dayton lol.
  25. They should convert his house into a unique store as part of the new Exchange. That way he could actually make money instead of use it for court fees and his ex hell wife.
