Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
They need some sort of fountain or water structures near the bridge. It could actually be quite stunning if done right...maybe cool water paths or something. We have such a cool looking bridge so there's no reason not to have something equally cool at the base and underneath it.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
I think regardless of the design, once its built people will allow it to grow on them just because it's new and it's finally there. Remember movies we would watch that we thought sucked at first, but the more we watched them the more we liked them? well, this could be the same way. Remember, the tenants chosen have just as much of a part at making this neighborhood memorable as the architecture. I think people can suck it up walking into an ESPN Zone with boring architecture on the outside. Bottom line...we won't exactly know how it will affect us until we see everything up close and personal.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Washington Park
They'll have to do something because SCPA will use that park, most likely, for lunch and recess...that'll drive those drunkards and druggies out...HOPEFULLY.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
Well I guess we won't really know until we see the buildings take physical form. Who knows, the boring renderings might actually look good when standing in front of them in person. (winces)

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
They should take all of the really cool buildings that have been demolished in OTR and make duplicates right on The Banks.
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
Yea its a great building. I wouldn't worry about the wording because we probably won't notice it that much. That crown on top will be getting all the attention;)

Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
Does anyone know where they're keeping that miniature model?
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
I think someone on this thread with a good camera should keep us posted with photos. This is a huge project and other cities will be keeping an eye on it as well.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
^good! lets get it rolling. This building will be massive and will take some getting used to because the skyline will dramatically change from all angles.

Newport, KY: SouthShore Condominiums
My friend is doing electrical work for the condo and said they're still planning on 4 buildings as originally planned. This legit? I thought they shaved it to 2 towers.
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: Fort Washington Way Cap
^I always thought that too. Broadway Commons has a ton of room and I always thought the corner of Broadway and Eggleston could have a really cool building because of the triangle shape. BUT, back on topic...regardless of how tall the buildings will be on the cap, it should act as a catalyst for more and more buildings. Small steps. The caps and Banks should be the building blocks for what could be a building boom on the riverfront alone.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Fort Washington Way Cap
^LOL what kind of statement is that hahaha. American cities pale in comparison to other cities such as Taipei, Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Shenzhen...I could go on. Plus, there's absolutely nothing wrong with having tall buildings. It makes the skyline look cooler and shows the city attracts development, money, and big companies. How could you not want that?

Cincinnati: Downtown: Fort Washington Way Cap
I think it should be as diverse and insane looking as possible. That way we can attract progressive businesses and people. This will wake up all of the turbo-powered conservatives that never allow cool things to happen;) haha. Bring on the casino too! weeeeeeeee!

Cincinnati: Downtown: Fort Washington Way Cap
Is there a link to this kessler plan?
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: Fort Washington Way Cap
It's no different than people hearing subways under their homes. That cap won't be paper thin and since it'll be a tunnel basically, all the sound could be absorbed by soundproof stuff. I'm sure they'd put it there.

Cincinnati: Western Bowl / General Custers
I'm from the east side but western bowl will be missed for sure. Fun place it was.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Fort Washington Way Cap
^ I actually asked that question before and I was told it will have supports for buildings up to 5 stories. Pretty cool eh?
-
Dayton, KY: Manhattan Harbour
10 years from now, the riverfront will be what it should've been a looooooooong time ago. Cincy and NKY together should have one of the best spots in the country and you can't argue that one bit;) bravo to the progress!
-
Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Mercer Commons
And housing will go there;) there's plenty of space downtown for a school. Too bad the streetcar isn't there now.
-
Cincinnati: Corryville: University Village
It's good that Corryville is being fixed up. Once we can clear out the drug hangout at the park, people can walk down there without being afraid. Everyone knows what park I'm talking about;) Does the Corryville Rec even own that?

TheHemroid replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionWell Rando, we won't know until it's built!

Over-the-Rhine: Central Parkway, Broadway Commons
Central PKWY looks a lot better now, but the whole street isself is extremely boring and it shouldn't be. That street should equal Newbury Street in downtown Boston. Yet, the only real exciting thing going for it is the new SCPA. They need to make Broadway Commons a priority. It's Lake Superior made of cement.

Cincinnati: Lower / East / Price Hill: Development and News
TheHemroid replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionEverytime I would drive to my friend's house taking the 8th viaduct, I always looked at the vast scope of crappy industrial buildings all around there. The area is gigantic and that's not including this 20 acre rehab going on. This could very well create a gigantic industrial spot all along the hill, connecting Union Terminal all the way to the river. It's do-able right? I think it's safe to say Cincy is FINALLY taking off. One other thing...Mallory couldn't have become mayor at a better time because a ton of stuff is getting done while he's in office. His resume should be pretty dandy come 10 years from now;)
-
Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Mercer Commons
Yea I think it will go North of Liberty...it's just a matter of time. That streetcar will help that very wish come true;) but the whole area by Schwartz's Point is sweet looking and there's plenty of cool looking buildings to keep.
