Covington, KY: Development and News
great news.

Cincinnati: Clifton Heights: U Square @ the Loop
I think what the study is showing is how happy the students actually are with what the apartments provide. They could care less how it looks on the outside. The older we get, the more we criticize how architecture looks. An 18-22 year old kid won't really give a crap.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Fourth & Race (Pogue Garage) Redevelopment
Don't plan on seeing anything happening for the next two years on this. Unless a miracle happens and everyone plays nice.

Cincinnati: Downtown: W&S Condominium Project (3rd & Broadway)
I agree 100% I've always hated those giant lots. They're ugly and could house some pretty impressive buildings size-wise.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Smale Riverfront Park
It needs a flying pig sculpture.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
I think it's ridiculous that people would complain about preserving the skyline. Last time I checked, The Banks is part of downtown and not a separate entity. They treat it as if downtown is babysitting a child. Skylines change. Deal with it.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
Like they say, if you're not hated in the business world, then you're not doing something right.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Fourth & Race (Pogue Garage) Redevelopment
Cranley is such a child. Anyway, I think the forward progress downtown has such good momentum that even Cranley can't stop it. Its clear he's not a city boy and could care less what happens down there. He has no clue what an urban core truly is or how important it is. 4Th and Race will happen. There's too many that care outside of the Cranlenator. Just my rant.

Does anyone remember the height restrictions at the Banks? isn't it something like 25 stories?

Cincinnati: Restaurant News & Info
TheHemroid replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentIt's amazing what the Mahogany's owner was able to do when she knew she had to. Some people just can't pay the bills on time unless they're threatened.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Heritage Bank Center
Not thinking the arena needs this is the exact reason it never has..."That"

This aught to anger Mick Cronin;)

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
TheHemroid replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionWhat I have found, and some might not agree, is that residents living in or close to the urban core care about the entire region as a whole. The people who live 15+ miles out only care about what's happening out there. Its a cluster of close-mindedness. OTR is going through a renaissance and the sad truth is we have people in the suburbs who haven't been downtown in years.

UC campus is awesome.

Cincinnati: Clifton: Development and News
Yeah a lot of people forget there's even a frisbee golf course in there Renovation would help keep those creepy dudes out of the park that like to spy on young girls. Its a weird place. You walk through there and forget it's Clifton (in a bad way).

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
Forgiving her and letting her keep the place is like lowering the grading standards so people can pass school. Anyways, anybody hear of phase II start date yet?
-
Cincinnati: Pendleton: Development and News
This is nice. Pendleton has always been a shady area. This could help get rid of that.
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: W&S Condominium Project (3rd & Broadway)
I still hope that the huge parking lots right next to the old "Edge" project get something.
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: Fourth & Race (Pogue Garage) Redevelopment
People here suffer from the "sameness" syndrome.
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
That article sucked. It seems that people in Cincinnati just like to complain about the city.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
TheHemroid replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionCorrect me if I'm wrong but, don't we HAVE to gentrify rundown areas in order to spur economic growth? Yes it really sucks for low income residents but you just have to do it. Are there any cities that have areas like OTR where they fixed them up and there was no gentrification?

Cincinnati: Downtown: Seven at Broadway
The new Broadway Tower is one of the better looking designs I've seen happen with our new buildings. The new Dunhumby looks cool but I really like how this Broadway Tower has those block shapes jutting outward and that they are staggered. To me, I love seeing more height on the Eastern side and I was really disappointed when The Edge didn't happen. This will be nice to look at.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
I'll just go out and say what everyone is thinking. The architect just sucks and whoever OK'd it sucks along with the architect. This is what happens when too many voices are thrown into the pot when it comes to design. Nobody has balls to say "Hey, that looks really bad, why put that there?"

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
TheHemroid replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionIt's amazing the transformation happening in OTR. It forces you to see streets you never knew existed. Some of those streets are just beyond awesome. I can't wait until development happens North of Liberty too.

Cincinnati: Downtown: 84.51°
Yeah and the 9 stories will probably look a lot taller.
