Cincinnati: Walnut Hills / East Walnut Hills: Development and News
For years I've driven through Peebles Corner and thought, wow this has such potential. Out with the bad and in with the good!

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
That's great news. Can't wait to see that side filled.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
TheHemroid replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & Construction...and since council shut Cranberry up about the streetcar cancellation, maybe that will just add to the development. All good news.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Fourth & Race (Pogue Garage) Redevelopment
I don't see this being cancelled. Besides, you can see the looks on the council member's faces...they already don't like Cranley so look for him to be out sooner rather than later. Taking away a tower and grocery store for out downtown is beyond madness and has nothing to do with money.

Dayton, KY: Manhattan Harbour
All they have to do for green space is make fake hills. Presto.

Cincinnati: Clifton Heights: U Square @ the Loop
Highway 55 is what Johnny Rockets should be...'50's style family restaurant that actually offers good food and not total crap.
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: Fort Washington Way Cap
I actually think its really cool that we can walk over Ft. Washington Way and see cars zipping by. Makes you feel like you're in a big, vibrant city.
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: Holiday Inn
Everyone needs to calm down otherwise you'll just be pissed at every single design Cincinnati proposes from here on out. Its Holiday Inn people. This chain isn't high on the architecture needs list.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
TheHemroid replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionI think most people accept that the most likely explanation for that fire is some shady business, but they also figure it will never be proven. Whatcha gonna do? Fire that destroyed Smitty's = no large groups of sketchy people hanging out in the front of it for hours. Win.

TheHemroid replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionI think you're mistaking Wilson Memorial Hall for DAAP :-P Ooooh BURN! Ha good one;)

Cincinnati: University of Cincinnati: Development and News
TheHemroid replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionThat ugly behemoth of a building should have been torn down years ago. I remember when I started DAAP way back in 2003, I've only seen it used once from then until now. I hope they put something much cooler there.

Cincinnati: Clifton Heights: U Square @ the Loop
If you take out that shell, it will piss everyone off big-time. Nobody wants to go to that ghetto gas station downtown. The Shell in Clifton makes a fortune and everyone gets gas there.
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: Fourth & Race (Pogue Garage) Redevelopment
I've always wanted to see that gap in the skyline filled.
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: 84.51°
I do like how the corners slowly jut outward as it gets to the top. You can't do much with an office building like this without it costing way too much. Besides, making judgments based on renders is nothing until actually seeing it in person.

Cincinnati: Downtown: 84.51°
I can also tell that once the design is released, everyone will hate it and we haven't even seen anything yet.

At least we now have a date!

Cincinnati: Pendleton: Development and News
By some miracle, I still wish they've develop something on those gigantic, ugly parking lots across from Diner on Sycamore.
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: Fountain Square West
There always needed to be height above Macy's. This will be cool.

Cincinnati: Clifton Heights: U Square @ the Loop
Old Schoolers have a lot of trouble getting with the times.

There's always a fear of looking too different. The same thing happens in car design. Companies just copy off of eachother. At U-Square, the architects played it safe and looked at The Banks and probably thought, hey let's save time and money and just make them similar. The other problem is that in the design world, art directors are wimps. They don;t know when to say NO. So what happens is you get architecture input from a marketer, an intern, a secretary, a treasurer, and the janitor. It becomes a clusterf$!k of ideas. Just look at the Pontiac Aztec;)

CincySAL, Johnny Rockets has always sucked. Bad food. The only cool thing about that place is the jukeboxes on the tables(not sure if they still do that). It won't last. It was made to look pretty and that's about it.

Cincinnati: Pendleton: Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati
Its because people will try any and every way to shave off expenses. If it means dangling wires, then they'll do it. The only time more money is spent is when people have to.
