Cleveland's lakefront plan: How the big projects are progressing
Those internal photos of HoJo are still up... and still sad. Does anyone have any news on the fate of the building?

Life in Bridgeview Apartments
Sounds like you were right above where we are now. Small world... :) There is air conditioning, but I foresaw a problem similar to my parents' house. Inspite of the air conditioning, the upstairs gets blazing hot in the summer. If the rooms' doors were closed and ceiling fans were on, it would be decent, but not great (in that it the fans would kick around the cool air from the vent). I was worried the same thing would happen at my Bridgeview place. There aren't any ceiling fans in the bedrooms, so the technique I mentioned wouldn't neccessarily work. If it's nice out, we can open the windows downstairs, but there's no way for that nice air to get upstairs. My roommate had the idea to block off the vents downstairs, thinking that would help... and it seems to do the trick. The real test is yet to come, though.

Cleveland Relocation Thread
My mistake. Disregard that. Some of the photos are hosted by photobucket, and Cleveland Clinic blocks such sites... for some reason. I'll have to re-visit this thread at home. :)

Life in Bridgeview Apartments
Thanks, everyone. The move went smoothly, and so far so good. I'm in a two-bedroom loft, and the upstairs got really hot on Friday (when it hit 82 degrees), so I foresee that being a problem come August. But, we'll see. Htsguy, it sounds like you lived in my exact unit, or close to it, at some point. I'm on the St. Clair hill side, directly across from Crittenden. Mr. Griffin, I'm on the second floor. I'm sure we'll run into each other at some point. goteenb, I'm parking in the Crittenden lot, which, if I park in the right spaces, is not too far from the access door to my side of the building. All said and done, it's not any farther from-car-to-door at this place than it was at my old place. We walked to Panini's on Sunday for lunch and I walked next door to grab some milk yesterday morning. It was pretty awesome. Where's this place been all my life? :)

April showers, May flowers, Late June-early July new CCFers =)
That's why I'm moving downtown, and why I plan to take the Health (silver) Line. :)

Cleveland Relocation Thread
Awesome guide. I noticed that some of the photos are broken, now, though.

Life in Bridgeview Apartments
Howdy. I'm moving into Bridgeview this weekend, and I wanted to hear thoughts on the place from those of you (if any) that live there. It's, obviously, too late to back out, but I'd like to hear good and bad, so that I can look forward to the good and be wary of the bad as the year goes by. I'm pretty stoked about the whole thing, but I had a tiff with them today about hooking up TV and internet. I don't want that to be the first of many. Anyway, lay it on me. :)

Cleveland: Cleveland Clinic News & Info
It might be on the lawn between Crile, Intercontinental and what will be the new Glickman and Miller buildings. The parking lot right next to that, heading north, might be a good spot, but I think that's actually used for parking (maybe just for construction crews). It may be on the front lawn right out in front of Crile, but that area's pretty busy with people coming and going anyway. I don't think it's going to be located in the back of Crile, on the E. 105th, side. They would've said that in the article if that was the case. It's funny. I was just going to post a link to this very same thing. I work at the Clinic, and I just saw it on the Intranet news... which pointed to the cleveland.com story. I should've known you folks here would be on top of it. :)

South Euclid: Cedar Center
Wow, I haven't been down that far in a while, I guess. I've been avoiding Cedar between Lee and Green because of the road construction they were doing. I didn't even know Chipotle closed!

Cleveland: The Flats Will Rise Again!
I just did. :) I linked back to this thread, as well. Thanks for the welcome. I thought people might think I'm just trying to plug my site, and I am, but it's a very Cleveland-oriented site, and I am really glad to find this place, too, so that I can talk to others about the goings-on in this city. I'll be sticking around.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
I love this project. I'm following it as closely as I can now. I'm moving to the W. 9th area in a couple weeks, so this construction is going to be happening in my backyard, practically. I would like to hopefully stick around until its finished. I think this (and other projects downtown) are going to turn the city around. I hope. I created a new topic elsewhere. I probably should've just put it here. I want to get involved down there and make damned sure these projects get finished.

Cleveland: The Flats Will Rise Again!
Hi. I found this place when someone mentioned it in the cleveland.com forum. I intend to check here regularly, as I would very much like to make sure that all the seemingly great projects that are about to get started in Cleveland actually happen. I'm moving Downtown in two weeks, and I'd like to get involved in trying to help the city be awesome again (it was...! Not in our lifetimes, but...) To that end, here's a piece I wrote for the site I've started. I'm going to talk about Cleveland there a lot, hopefully (among other things), and I'd love to hear your thoughts either here or there. Take care!
